      Not going the image way, how to do this (in a way appropriate to this thread, that is)? How to distort a grid of faces and edges, before or after extrusion?

      Well, it's clear that for me posting to this thread is too time consuming, unless my intended standard is lowered... from the quintessential to the fantabuloso. I hope there are at least occasional posts from others consistent with the thread to whet the appetites and expand the palates and familiarity of the interested.

      Ben Monder. What the video lacks in audio quality is made up for in revealing the apparent intensity and devotion of the artist. To me, his compositions seem reverential more often than not.

      The name is familiar and now I see why.

      Very nice stuff (but not my video title).

      EDIT: I see now I have a Pandora Magma station. Self-generated playlist is rocky rather than jazzy, though.

      Not sure of your mixology, though I love your ingredients.

      When I first heard miRthkon, I thought Hot Rats FZ... dear among the dear.
      Especially these...

      "The Gumbo Variations"
      [flash=560,360:25g5cnrb]http://www.youtube.com/v/isa0GlhRZYY[/flash:25g5cnrb]

      Also a favorite:
      4. 21:48 "Little Umbrellas"
      The entire album.

      Yes, sir, I agree that it is cubististic.

      And thank you for your links but my prefs are rather narrowly defined, as much as I don't really like the sound of that.

      In France there are so many that fit my bill (even if they are not all french ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ž Univers Zero, Marc Ducret, Philharmonie, Volapuk, Yang, Zu, Miriodor, Far Corner, Birdsongs Of The Mesozoic...

      Sure, and seems that is on my mini tuto! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Pardon. I missed that.

      I tried the manual push pull, autofold move, scale, repeat.. useful to know if a lot more work than follow me for the whole curve, but as Peter says, more customizable, depending on what is desired (I didn't bother looking and there was no image posted so I would not have to).

      I kind of wanted to know how to make without a plugin.

      Plugins are really the same stuff as the native SU tools like 'follow me' that you will use if you go native, they are just more capable. The distinction is a real one but materially insignificant. Just ask any of the chefs around here.

      You folks have shown remarkable restraint in keeping these bit waves free of music and food related drivel. I have borne up under these restraints for as long as I could, but un-named others have snuck in little bits and links and snippets and now the house is coming down.

      So, this being the Corner Bar, I thought I'd clearly share: it is what I call progressive jazz...the un-evolved heart of this thread...

      Use this for the audio, but visually it is just an album cover:
      [flash=560,360:g036teww]http://www.youtube.com/v/peRzWdE7Rgw[/flash:g036teww]

      Use this for something to look at, if need be or you are curious (video of live track, not same session; audio not as good so turn off sound while listening to first; if you care, you will have to sync them yourself.)

      Their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/mirthkon

      Could someone tell me how to format this properly? Audio track embed from myspace:

      Why not go to Eric's YouTube page and watch it full screen?

      I often have problems trying to go to the vid source: I click this way and that, nothing happens. Better not to have to do anything but watch the thing in front of you, I think.

      Glad Gai's got it covered, pretty surely...

      But this makes duplicate geometries and is a bit annoying to go hiding and showing.

      You are right about the duplicates but not about the annoying. Once you create the different scenes there is no delay to speak of and the hiding and showing is all done for you. You can have transitional effects and animate it if impressing is in your program.

      Well posted help request goes not without getting a worm or two. Poor Pilou has got you covered, as usual. Smart to know how without the plugins if that is in order to better understand how SU works; if for burning the candle, not so.

      How'd you do with the follow me tool? Its known to be touchy. I think pre-selecting the path is recommended to make life easier.

      There may be some folks out there looking at your subject line and having questions of their own, like what does this guy think the subject line is for? Better to put some meat on that hook if you want to catch something. Otherwise they may think you don't mind wasting their time... Do you know what I mean?
