I see. Even with my hardware in my face, I have a hard time futzing with it when I need to.

I don't know any of the particulars of this bridge in London, only that I like it. ('The Shard'- Renzo Piano in the background.)

Trays other than for the keyboard allow easier access to the back of the slots. Otherwise this is a real challenge, or more accurately, impossible if the thing is used (partly filled) as this means not only have you got to physically get to the back through the slot but you've got to move everything out of the way prior to doing so.

That's a nice video, Pilou. If anyone has time for a few words on workflow with Hexagon (to SU), please lay them down. I don't know the prog... Do you export from there, say an 'obj' file and then import that into SU?

I've done some things with galv. stl. plumbing pipe for same reasons most do, but have since moved away. They are not cheap given the quantity; tightening / loosening on both ends can be problematic; custom threading is likely required; reworking not friendly to paint or a finished look (plumber's wrenches).

Don't you want symmetry about the keyboard for your monitors as the default? EDIT: I see: the Cintiq is a big Wacom tablet.

I like the box with the slots; a sliding tray or two inside would be even better, and I would want some drawers. I think you're wanting simple but more would work better for me.

    • RE: Dejected

When I said 'looks happy', I was referring to the feeling of your render. Very warm, and not the palette, of course. Lots of trees, little urbanity, blue sky, stone buildings, etc. They look like broadleaf evergreens (darker, I guess is why) but I guess they are not or mostly not.

    • RE: Dejected

As I very rapidly approach looking like they do and feeling often like they look, I've come to understand the look in a different way. Getting old, being old can get you down and looking down, but in being that you may have the requisite resignation and acceptance and peace. You may do a lot of drinking.

I should do more hand holding and even ride giving, and less drinking. There is couple in my gym who look like your couple and hold hands while at the gym. They rarely show any expression but surely seem as close to one being as I can imagine, and very peaceful if frail. They, neither, look dejected, though.

Feel warm; offer them a lift. Probably they want to walk.

    • RE: Does anyone know a "Floor Plan Workshop" like impression

You can do what you say you want to do with native free SU, though with more difficulty than Pro. I use free. What are your biggest problems when using it? If you want viewport like functionality then, yes, Layout, would provide it much more easily.

I've been having bother filling irregular shapes so I'm trying to come up with ways of drawing that solve the problem for me. ...when I completed the arrow it failed to infil the body of the arrow, yet when I deleted the infil on the sphere and arrowhead the body became infilled automatically.

Looks like you have been shown a nice way or two to model your 3d arrow but I'm not sure about the stated problem of 'filling irregular shapes' and 'is this supposed to happen?' As was suggested if you post a model (or, less helpful, a pic with hidden edges displayed), someone can better see what may be going on. Better if possible to know what is going on than to work around the problem without a fuller understanding.

There are threads here regarding file / graphical / thumbnail viewers. Search for them. 'Mystic Thumbs' is maybe the strongest candidate.

      Hi there!

I'm trying to create this organic shape for over a month now but it just won't work. I tried several plugins like the artisan, soap bubble, and some fredo tools. Is there anyone who knows a good method or plugin that can help me?

Someone may correct me, but it seems this is a multiple step process with many variables, which is not to say it is difficult (surely looks tedious, but that is owing to the detail of your linked images) only that it would help to know what you have been able to do and what specifically your problems are. Also, how far do you want to take it? Post some pics of your work or a model, please, if possible.

More specifically, if you are particularly interested in the surface or planar lock which this thread centers on, go to minute 5 of the second video listed above. All of it is for me a good inference locking reminder, though.

    • RE: How to tackle this slopy thing...?

Thanks, Gerrit, you nailed it for me: Thin black line changing to thick when pressing shift to lock whilst getting 'on face' inference indicators. For me, it was in fact a missing inference: 'on plane of'. Thank you, Peter. I missed the OP's video link entirely.

SNEAKY EDIT: Pardon what bears repeating until is sinks in: I think the quote in Gilles' post following misses the key point that the black line is not thick until you press and hold shift.

From the peanut gallery, if the choice is to create within or outside of the current group, I'd say within would be preferable for me.

      Thanks for asking.
