Oh Bugga, I knew it was easy but wasn't expecting it so fast.

I wasn't expecting a yes to that.
Ok Try this one.

RE: Visual Puns & Puzzles
Stonehenge it is, as pronounced by a Kiwi.
It is one of the standard stone textures of SU.

RE: Visual Puns & Puzzles
I'll add a quick and easy one. Might have been done before.

RE: Problem shaping a revolver grip.
Tigs excellent Extrude Edges by Rails gives a very nice effect.
The shape will vary depending on where you place your arcs, so all sides need not be the same.

RE: Looking for Victorian Column
I knocked this up in about an hour as an interpretation of your drawing.
I kept it as simple as possible, with only Bezier curve and Extrude by rails plug-ins.
Hope it helps.

RE: Render This: Dunny
As an ex-pat Australian I thought I should point out for the foreigners hereabouts that a Dunny could be referring to a great piece of quality Australian architecture.
Many a student has been shattered by the intricacies of designing one.
Few get it right, but those that do go on to greatness.

Ben, that's just creepy.

I'm sure there was an episode where Monty was half man half robot, but yes, I have a rather twisted mind too. He always did remind me of Davros. (Dr Who)

I figured as this is sketchup, we should sketchysize the Avs, albeit with a Simpsons flavour.

RE: Deleting a face?
The intersection isn't complete.
Triple click anywhere on the piece, the whole thing should be shaded blue meaning it's all selected.
Right click on it and select "intersect with selection".
Single click on the oval that is the end of the tube and hit delete.Edit, I was too slow.
-
RE: Deleting a face?
Click once on the face itself to select it.
Don't double click because that will select the edges of the face also.
The face itself should get little blue spots all over it but the edges should remain black.
Then right click on the face and select erase, or just hit delete on your keyboard.

RE: How to transfer to the real world
Dave The length is not a problem, it's a continuous feed roller so will draw any length.
The width on my machine is 700mm/28" but it's no problem to print two halves and just join them together, It's not perfect but for around 200 bucks it's a godsend for my work.If it's a hobby and something you do for the pleasure of it, then obviously doing it by hand is best.

RE: How to transfer to the real world
Another option would be to get your plans printed full size.
You should have a local print/copy shop that can do it for not too much money.
The cost would probably outweigh the time and headaches involved in trying to draw it full size yourself.
I have a vinyl cutter/plotter that I use for such things, I simply export my plans as DWG, open them in Corel Draw and print away. If you were going to do it all the time it makes a great addition to your arsenal, but if it's a one off, the copy shop should sort you out. -

One question. Is any chance to make a radius on the edges?
Simple, just start with your flat bar having radius corners and everything flows from there.

Speaking of large puppets, this lump of wood has more life in it than many highly paid celebrities.

RE: Load Time Test
Dare I say it, 16 sec, 13 sec, once upon a time you would wait minutes for a web page to open.
Personally I keep seldom used plugins in a different folder and add them if I need them. Many plugins do similar if not the same things and it's worth understanding what you use best, and removing the ones you don't need.

RE: Captain James Cook Cottage
A really nice piece of work, well done.
My only slight criticisms, knowing the building itself quite well, are that it is all a bit too neat.
The stone, bricks and roof are much more irregular in real life. Also, I think I spotted an error, you have the window open but the reflection continues in what should be an open space.
But still an outstanding image.
