That usually happens if you made the original section on Layer0.

Instead of Remaking the section try Making a new section. From then on you can Remake it and it will keep those values.

I didn't make the original section on Layer 0....

      Hi Tig -

I'm having an issue with 5.1:

When I 'Remake Section Cut Face' it doesn't fill the section and it creates a new object on Layer 0, despite having selected the option to name it after the layer when I first created the cut.

I'm going to try and delete all related files from my PlugIn folder and re-install from a download.

No luck, deleted manually and re-installed from the SKF store, same problem persists.

    • Inserted PDF Rendering in 2016 vs. 2015

I think this is a bug.
I am having rendering issues with several inserted PDFs when exporting in 2016.

I back saved the file to 2015 and things render and export as expected.
Same machine, fonts, etc. The only difference is opening and exporting the file in 2016 or back saving and opening and exporting in 2015.

in the menu ruby, you need to change line 63 rnd_renamer_tb.show

      		rnd_renamer_tb.restore

it should then honour last state...
      john

      that worked. thanks....

also figured out how to change the HTML window size, always bugged me that the content didn't show in the window and i'd have to stretch it to see what i was doing.

I think you'll need to edit the plugin yourself...
I'll see if I have a copy and what line needs the tweak...
      john

Thanks John. I have done that with most plugins... once someone points me to the code or the line...
But I'm not at all capable or writing Ruby... so I thought I'd ask.

This is a great plugin... but... I can't get the icon to go away. I am on a Mac Yosemite, SketchUp 2015 and 2016 had the same problem. Install the extension, close the toolbar, restart SketchUp and the tool bar appears again.

      Otherwise, wonderful extension.

It's actually quite comfortable. I've used similar shaped mice before, and come back to this type of shape. The small ones cramp my hands. The generic ones burn up too quickly. The thumb shape is actually quite comfortable.

Regardless, I've had and dealt with carpal tunnel due to working with power tools in a production capacity many years ago, in my formative years. I certainly don't want it back.

And I make a living pushing pixels now, been doing so for a long while. I try out different tools and find what works. I was happy to see this released as they discontinued my favorite, which had a similar shape.

Sorry if it doesn't work for you.

    • RE: Logitech Options Update (Mac) breaks Orbit

I like it. I had one of the older USB versions that was similar... burned that one up and have been using the M510, burned that one up and it always felt a little small for all day use. Switched to a Magic Mouse for a bit using a 3rd party app to get me the middle button / scroll - that sucked. Love it on my other Mac that I don't draw with... tried a Razer Naga with the side buttons, but found it really uncomfortable. I like this one. Been using it for about a month - the thumb scroll wheel is nice in that I can roll left and right in spreadsheets (or set it to other commands) - and the forward / back arrows are good for web. Wish they had a pre-program capability - but they don't. The scroll wheel takes some getting used to. It ratchets, but if you spin it fast it goes into freewheel mode. There is also a toggle button on the top to switch between ratchet and freewheel... I think my old Logitech did that too.

There's the option to setup gestures. The sculpted shape under the thumb can be setup to activate this. I haven't used it yet. I have the thumb setup to go to my app launcher on the Mac.

Driver is fine. Just find the older version if you get the new on on download. And you can run it without the Logitech software (on a Mac) - you just lose the extra buttons.

Off topic but that mouse is for weight lifters. If you are a steady Sketchup user a mouse half that size and weight would do you a lot of favours.

thankfully i don't lift it, just push it around...

I did that while looking for the older version. But I have a muscle memory issue with the back and forward buttons for the web, as well as the thumb scroll wheel in spreadsheets.

    • Logitech Options Update (Mac) breaks Orbit

If anyone is getting a nag to update the Logitech Options software for the MX Master - when you do so it breaks the middle button for orbit in SketchUp.

I had to dig around to find an older driver... works fine on the old version.
      5.10.24 is a good version.

    • RE: Construction & Working Drawings - Discussion

no plugins, but I use my model and then either pull it apart and save scenes, or if i need multiple views use scenes and layers, to keep the camera in the same location. the problem i had with the plugin(s?) i tried was that i always needed to tweak the 'explode' distance depending on the view and the part... if i had to manually adjust them anyways it made sense just to do it by hand.

but that could be tedious if you have lots of products to illustrate.

    • RE: LO Preferences Startup Window Size

found it in the library. didn't work at first, had to trash it and then restart... but finally, got it back.
clearly within that file was the problem, yet i didn't see anything in the code that made sense to change.
