@solo said:  Is that a Vue render? wait...is that a render? nope it's not a VUE render, if i'm not mistaken it's a 3DS max render and yes it's most definitely is a render, a very incredible render in a mater of fact you can visit Daniel's site here the thing is, i have seen lawns (grass) rendered like this not only on the net, but have seen a couple of your own render i think with incredible outcome from VUE... so if you have anything resembling that, i would really appreciate it, or even a small tutorial on how to make a lawn on terrain

And find a manufacturer. sorry for the late post mate, i'm just a student so i don't have the resources to build it but it would be nice to see them in reality... renders are as close as i'll ever come LOL on the first post i've just updated it with another image... [see below] i've recently been browsing the ASGVIS forums and came across a gallary post called "simple interior" created by: "Omar" which i loved... so i asked the author if i may recreate his image but in a more modern style... and he agreed, so here i show you my result, hope you all like it I have used a few designer furniture for this; LeCorbusier LC2 Sofa LeCorbusier LC2 Armchair Prouve Gueridon Table Aaron R Thomas table lamp [image: ruIC_imitation-forum.jpg]

@unknownuser said: I especially like the second one. I think it's the postprocessed lighting effect you've got going on. Thank you mate....it's very refreshing when other pepeol apreciate your work @unknownuser said: If you've already put the effort into photorealistic though I wouldn't be so quick to go back to SU for non-photorealism. Why not just take your PR renders and turn them into NPR via Photoshop? I've had pretty good luck with that approach on occasion. well i didn't go back to SU for the NPR...not completly anyways...I used Thom's vray tools to get the exact camara angels used for the PR renders, to get the line works in SU and using the existing PR renders i already had...went into PhotoShop and created the NPR images. I'll upload the line work and PR images so you can have a look at what i had to work with. [image: fHGU_002.jpg] [image: kb4q_102.jpg] [image: jkEo_ArtistImpresion101.jpg]

@andeciuala said: Great results! Congratulagion thnx mate, coming from you guys this means a lot, to a newbie to vray like me..... oh and andeciuala, can you give me/us a tut on how you achieved that wonderful glass material, and also your studio setup, cause i have a real problem with studio setups. thnx mate. @40th said: Very nice 21D. For the glass material you should uncheck the "Reflect on Backside". Also increase the "max depth" to 5 (the default is 2) under Global Switches. Oh and lift the glasses just a bit, even 1 mm is enough. Your scene setup is very good btw. thnx mate, same goes to you, really appreciate your comment. I'm gonna try those tweaks asap.... I'll post my result in the GALLERY topic, oh that is also the reason for my late reply, because i thought everyone moved to the topic in the gallery section. but see ya guys later. and thnx again for all your comments and tips.

The difficulty will be creating the proper angle for the main light. In the real studio I can just move the lights until the lighting looks right. In the virtual studio it can involve a lot of slow iterations. I recommend test runs at the smallest size and fastest render method. Can't wait to see how it works for you.

@mateo soletic said: It looks nice, especially the design. From the grainy look I thought it was Maxwell at first. thank you Mateo, it's really good to hear that you like the design, because to be honest i did have some doubts about the design, but now i feel better about it... before I began with vray i used maxwell as my main renderer...but I really like the final product of vray, because of the speed, and I noticed that if you spend a lil extra time on the texturing, the final product has the same or sometimes even better quality than maxwell. and thank you again for your comment, much appreciated...

Hi Rachid, hi folks. If you go to the SU site and download the Architecture Bonus Pack (free), you will get about a dozen of glass doors (simgle panel, double panels, double with sides, sliding, revolving, etc. The bonus packs can be found at: http://sketchup.google.com/download/bonuspacks.html Choose any one and then start from that to embelish it. You may, for example add frosted lettering to a glass panel by using 3D text. Paint the letters with a concrete texture that you make slightly translucent. You can change the coloring and transparency of the glass. Read the help about the Paint Bucket Tool, colors and textures and also about how to edit these. Just ideas.

Yes Bubba that exactly what I meant This last one seems darker than the others to me. There is an odd thing going on around the top edge of the room. Almost like a light source ir something. Just looks a bit out of place. I would say work on lighting the room brighter. What you can do is set up to area lights, both with "ignore normals" OFF. Both should be about 24-30" from the edge of the ceiling. Place one just below the track lighting shining down with shadows on. Place the other 1" below that shining up with shadows OFF. both are to be placed "Invisible" these can be carefully tweaked as to not over power or take away from the affect of the track lights. This will give you more control over the lighting in the room. Scott [image: PM2O_lightingtestsu.png] [image: 0nUf_Lighingtest.jpg]
