      Hi there mates,
I am currently working with Vue to do my landscaping
but my problem is that i cannot model acurate terrain based on the projects I am working,
on the other hand in sketchup it is more simple to do this in many way, like Google Earth or even modeling it from scratch,
but my problem lies when i want to go into Vue to finish up my lanscaping on that "terrain" from SU, i cannot edit/morph this terrain in Vue because it reads it as an object and not a terrain.

I know that you can IMPORT DEM(Digital elevation model) files into SU, but is it possible to EXPORT them also??
because Vue does read DEM files as actuall terrains, wich would help me alot.

thnx in advance for any info you can provide me about this or if you are able to make a plug-in to be able to export as an DEM file.

Thats an interesting question. I was just working on a script to make messy terrains all nice and tidy (until I found that Didier made one that did exactly was I was attempting). So I quit writing it. But it would work very well together with something like a DEM exporter. First clean up a terrain to make sure it is DEM compliant, then export as DEM. I have no idea how to write an exporter exactly. I imagine it would just require finding the .dem file specifications and then orgainze SU data into that format. It might be do-able. But it would take me a long time I'm sure and I have a few other scripts I'm working on. But I'll keep this in mind if I get some time and no one else starts it.

        Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.
