I am accustomed to rendering objects and interiors using Vray for SketchUP (1.49). I have been asked to do a few renderings of a few buildings from the streetscape: cars, foliage, etc. My computer is a bit dated, and I am afraid that this project could just end up crashing my computer - foliage, entourage, etc. I do not have 1.6 beta, so proxies are out of the question
Additionally, none of the buildings on the site have actually been designed - this is intended to be a quick but realistic concept to whet the appetites of investors, developers, etc. so they can have a sense of what 'could be.'
...but the idea of rendering buildings that don't even exist bothers me.
I was hoping some of you could offer advice on how to approach this project? Exterior shots are just not my thing, but this is a good opportunity to learn.
How to efficiently insert foliage, cars, etc., that won't cause my laptop to implode, nice settings for a good exterior scene (I am envisioning a few sunset shots: lights on in windows, streaks of car lights going by, etc.)
