Yeah, I've checked them out. Their numbers are impressive, but some of them are terrible quality, or so small you need a magnifying glass, and a large portion of their "blueprints" are just side views, or maybe a front view. And they only have a few of the ones I was looking for. I was hoping for maybe a source that somebody here has discovered that is not readily found in a Google search. Gigi, have you found the animation options? Via Window > Model info > animation you can set how long it takes to go from one scene to another, and whether the camera should pause at each scene. Then when you export, be sure to click 'options'. Here you can un-check the box for 'loop to start', if you'd like.

I'm using V-Ray with SU V8.0. What's more I'm using the second-to-latest version of V-Ray, because I find the delay on SU start-up to be unacceptable with the latest V-Ray. You just need to make sure that, when installing V-Ray, you change the default installation folder from SU7/Plugins to SU8/Plugins. Edit: I see Thom has already mentioned this...and that you're on a Mac, but I'll leave this in place to reinforce the message for other readers.

I don't think Joe has the pro version so no LayOut. Of course there are other applications that could be used including something common like MS Word. If this is the sort of work someone is doing frequently especially as a business and where one needs to show the output to clients, I think it would make sense to just spring for the pro version and get LayOut and get on with it.

Now that's gonna be useful!!! I think I can use that to do what I need to do, has all kinds of options for working with the components and groups. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help - although I would still like to know why the component browser gives me such weird results. I'm firmly convinced that my basic modeling practices are far from ideal, and I'm paying for it with things like that. While I can do what I set out to do, pretty much, eventually, I think my sloppy techniques are resulting in some unnecessary bumps in the road and larger files and edge counts than need be. If I don't get it right now, it's only gonna get worse as I delve into more complicated models. Anyhow, thanks again.
