Pagan, Rotate the model in the right direction. It does not matter at what angle. Now immediately type 30 and hit enter (look at the VCB right bottom of screen, it should be white to accept input). This 30 degrees will be the final rotation. Wo3Dan Thank you very much, this is what I need. Gaieus thanks too, that could come handy. Thank to all.

Gaieus, That works too. What I had been doing was single-clicking once (click and release) on a grip, dragging it out, and then typing my numbers. Your way… click (don’t release) drag out… then release… works. Figures I’d find the one way it doesn’t work first, while trying to learn the program’s features!

You kidding me? Had to put up my one and only (third-hand) C40 as collateral for my shed! Just keep hoping carbon fiber and Campagnolo lasts forever. Being married, I end up putting more miles on the Trek tandem than on the solo. But it's all fun. Todd

I too can see merit in this idea. I was about to post something similiar about SU flagging you when you are in tight areas working and inadvertantly select and delete some common entity to a major component elsewhere in the model, that when selected you have no idea the major was affected until you zoom extents again and a major partof your model is missing and 100 undos wont bring it back. I think various colored bounding boxes might help the situation. GREAT idea Coen!

Get another mouse for your laptop. One laptop friendly mouse is the Logitech VX Nano cordless laser mouse http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/3271&cl=us,en. On the downside, it needs batteries and forward/back buttons work with the index finger instead of the thumb. On the plus side is the stubby USB dongle, small size, and the Set Point software to control its features. You can assign SU keyboard shortcuts to its programmable buttons. The software even has a plugin http://www.mstarmetro.net/users/rlowens/uberOptions/ for more control options. I have the MX Revolution pictured in the uberOptions page. It's larger than the Nano and has rechargeable batteries. Sales and rebates can knock down the price 20-30 USD on both.

Thx solo, that is good to know! I'm toying with CrazyBump at the moment, I was hoping one could assign these maps, created by some or other program, within SU (Pro) and thus have it be of more value to the professional licence owner.

I usually make my parking lines 100mm wide by say 5500mm long and construct one of them using the rectangle tool.... I then fill the rectangle with White..... then I copy the White filled recatangle to create each of the carparking spaces and then soften (hide) the black lines. You are then left with a 100mm wide white line with no black line borders. Seems to work well but it can be tedious if you have a very large carpark. Cheers, Gareth

Hello everybody!!! I'm so glad there are more people with my problem. I've been trying how to do that for a while now and just can't figure it out. I think the easiest way for a ruby would be to make a modification to the scale tool where certain dimensions can be locked. Lets say we could have a dialog box where to type in certain dimensions like 3/4, 2" and 1/4 that will be locked while scaling. Then we could scale without having our important measurements changing. Thats my dream of how it could look like!!!!!!!!! Please help us poor people who just want to stretch and not sale !!!!!!!!!!! Thank you guys so much. At least I know there are more people out there with the same problem. Roland

When you are exporting to 3ds...or anything else for that matter...you need to go into the export options (small, hiding-in-plain-sight button on lower right of export dialog box)and uncheck the Export stand alone edges box. You should only need to do this once.
