Kelly, Fortunately for me, my computer doesn't have any knees, so I guess I dodged a bullet that time. Nonetheless, thanks for the tip, -Gully poster-Gully Foyle

It reminds me of how the downstairs used to look at my dad's house. We had the parkay floor and the wood bar. Complete with brass rail and "mood" lighting above the bar.

Thanks for the tip Ron. 20/20 is a cabinet layout program. I did a short part-time stint as a kitchen designer and we used 20/20. http://www.2020technologies.com/frmProducts.aspx?id=2726 @rons said: Your welcome all. Glenn, They are from acad files. You can get them right from Kraftmaid. I will have base, wall, vanity, furniture and entertainment cabinets posted here soon. There are many many many cabinets. If you download the acad file you will have to reverse all of the faces on each one. This is the only downfall. What is 20/20?

@alan wood said: Hi Gully The chairs look nice and comfortable and the table would appear to extend. Did you make this yourself? I'm tempted to ask Coen if the woodworkers on this site could maybe have a shed to play in, and maybe talk about methods of making etc. Pass on a few tips etc. Any views on that? That would be really nice, because I might be soon to start a project, and i am all for any tips or suggestions that may alter my design to make it look better or be more useful. I have the model and have only sort of started dimensioning out individual pieces in my rather unprofessional way so I know what I need to make.

Gaieus is right! It's DAZ 3d models, pretty simple software to use. I don't bring them into sketchup, just use them in different rendering software. There is a lot of tutorial stuff out there for DAZ, the models are just too high poly for sketchup. Also, the faces still look very stoic, so i avoid a direct view. http://www.daz3d.com/

Yes, Alan, I know. I've also learnt a lot from my own laziness and mistakes - but seriously this furniture was just made to be a pice of component for SU users - not a real design for woodworkers...

Eric, at the end you'll end up with so many couches (sorry, sofas and loveseats) that you can open a furniture store... But seriously speaking - indeed very nice pieces!

I would not dream of splitting it. Yours is a trifoil as well so it is good to keep them together.

I don't know how that happened. I originally drew it in AutoCAD and brought it into SketchUp. Must be a CAD thing. I need to learn more about this stuff. Is there anyone out there that also uses AutoCAD to draw the geometry?
