Sigh... You are right, Pete got rid of many of his originally embedded images (this is why it would be preferred to attach them straight here especially in case of tutorial or CMS content). Anyway, Now as we have UV Tools (with spherical mapping), this tutorial, however interesting solution and useful it was, can be considered sort of obsolte. I also have two models (or rather high poly spheres) in the Warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=bc92eca8611ed04d2470944666440e50 and http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=6ed69ca0de0718c2bb014d52f42fdd7f where (if you do not mind the high poly stuff) you can simply reload the images and they will still preserve the spherical UV mapping.

Hi, I have the same problem as Dave. I have already tried everything.I also studied the manual again and again. If i select one or two lines, nothing happens. I do not get it to work. If i use a Panel Component, named PA as described in the manual i get the message: (See Image below). The version is : 1.1 & 1.2. - November 2005. I think this is the actual version. Hi D... Do the other way round (provided that those components er the instances of the same component definition) as the order is important: Edit one of them (double click) Set the centerpoint inside in that component - now if they are all the same components, each should be updated instantly with this centerpoint in them delete the geometry - i.e. the "crosses" - leaving only the centerpoint inside the component NOW exit the component and explode all...

Sorry about that. Try here - http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_geo_page.htm You need to find Points_Cloud_Triangulation.rb. Right click and save the link to your plugins folder. It also requires Delaunay2.rb to work. Find it here - http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=117071#p117071

@arc said: And no need to use Match Photo, just set camera and check the menu camera-->two point perspective......then get your step6, right? Ummmm ..... Yes ...... ......... and ....... No ........ Two point perspective does seem to have the same 2D qualities when manipulated with same Hand/Zoom toolset. I hadn't appreciated that. But .......... unless I am missing something here ........ it limits you to two point perspective! The example I showed is far from two point ......... Match Photo works for any perspective ...... That said and done, I do often use two point perspective and this is a great shortcut for that situation. Thank you. David Mac

It is really a good way for learning how to weld two objects. Actually, it is simple but it could give us a basic welding procedure. It is really a big help. I am planning to build a welding shop in my place just like my brother did when he transferred to other place.

@ultimatez 32 said: FYI, the aircraft in the tutorial is a hawker hurricane Well, then the other one must be the AVG Curtiss P-40B of the Chinese Air Force? That link I have posted is just for some additional info on different approaches to modeling, that´s all. I would really like to see more of your work. I used to "hand-stitch" quite often, and it still works fine for me, at least on small surfaces. For a larger scale work, I prefer using plugins. Cheers!

Yes, I would use .png files with transparency. You can use other people's styles with textures as a study guide by going to Style > Edit >Watermark then clicking on the specific watermark and save as to your computer.

Down in the Hungarian forum, a member also had problems with Pepakura not opening SU-to-KMZ exports properly. It seems that the still available "Google Earth 4 (kmz" export from SU 6 works the best. Note that SU 6 (Pro) is still available for download at Google and even if someone does not have a license for the pro version, after 8 hours it will gracefully degrade to the free version but that does have these kmz export options!

Gosh guys, thanks . I appreciate the nice words. It is true it has been a while since I have done a tutorial, except for this one I did last week for garydorn. I have been busy with many different things including sketching again, I forgot how much I missed drawing by hand . I also created a blog recently, check it out if you want. Just click on my signature below. Again, thanks for the kind words guys.
