When you say a "rendered video walkthrough" do you talk of something like this ? If yes LightUp will be fine for you! It can made even a rendered video walkthrough interactive by the user who has not Sketchup or LightUp !!! Also for the Net or IPad... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH_WTmsDgVw&list=UUGGG74ibHIHoEsSuyLUkOfg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PDeAlFFERM

You need to lock the inference. Which means you want to keep the octagon orientated to the blue axis. To do that, position the tool so that it inferences to the edge and is blue, then hold shift and move the tool up to the position you want it and click to start the shape and release the shift key and drag the octagon to size. Quicker to make a vid than to try to explain more. In the vid I move around to show the different inference colours, then when down the bottom and blue I hit shift to lock the inference. @kabukidoo said: New to sketchup, have managed to locate and download both the line on surface plug in and the joint push plugin. Trying to make a sloped curved wall much like above. Every time I go to delete excess my interior wall disappears below the "cut" Help? Very helpful video though. I'm amazed I've gotten so far so quick. Can you attach the model just before you do that? Remember that in removing excess you have to leave any edges that are "used" by the faces you wish to keep. It's easy at first to mistakenly remove too many edges (at least I had that problem sometimes). One way to remove a face or smooth curved surface: DOUBLE CLICK on the face to select the face plus all bounding edges. GROUP. Then DELETE. That should leave edges that adjacent faces need. HEY EARTHMOVER! I see you visited recently but not posted for a while. How are you? Miss your inspiration!

Well Life is Life...it goes up and it goes down, but a man with your talent shouldnt find it to hard to make a living....but the next time you find yourself back on stable ground, please start with a gothic series first, also if your finding hard ways of making cash lets talk about marketing this book and so forth and so on, I bet any CG Artist would'nt mind have a gothic tutorial on how to make a gothic cathedral and a gothic castle tutorial series lol and with a video tutorial it wouldnt take you nierly as long to make the tutorial then having to write it out each time.....ok rambling on well lets continue to see what comes out of this story as it unfolds

Well, thanks for the feedback - I hope to be able to add a couple of new ones every week. They may look a bit too "specialized" (with those architecture history class taste) but I hope everyone will find them useful and discover little tips or techniques that can be used in other contexts, too.

@jbjdesigns said: Thank you Gaieus for the 2 tutorials! I tried them both out. Although the second tutorial (subject line) was geared towards SketchUp Pro, I was able to create 3 arched windows in a curved wall following the instructions in the first tutorial (Window in a Round Wall). Here is my results. Thanks again! Jo Ann I would not say it was "geared" towards SU Pro - but the method of intersecting and cleaning up is the same as in the first one - so I just would not "bother" to repeat myself (with no bad taste in the "bother" word). I even mentioned this in the second tutorial (the method is always the same - from now on, it is just our fantasy to prepare the scenes to get the desired result after the operation - no matter with which boolean tool we do that last part).
