Yes, it's true,It was just a prediction (no information), we call it the French flair! .Well, the new version of SketchUp pro and Layout brings us a lot of good things and especially for DWG imports/exports. cordially

A title block should be part of your template. Make a template for the size of the paper you're working with. If you need to print on different size sheets, make the template for the largest and print the exported PDF to the desired smaller size.

@dave r said: The section cut lines are not edges in the SketchUp model so you can't dimension to them. Peter's suggestion works because edges are created in the group. You could also use TIG's Section Cut Face and make the edges of the faces visible. I use TIG's SectionCutFace, I never noticed that option. Duh! Thanks.

I would suggest you create one or more layers specifically for SketchUp viewports and keep the viewports on them. When I create templates for LO, I always have at least two if not more layers set up for viewports and the lowest viewport layer is set as the active one. That way, when I use Send to LayOut, the first viewport will automatically be on the correct layer.

@ben ritter said: Had the same issue in Layout 2017, but that just seemed to happen from one day to the next. Fixed it simply, but not sure why it happened. BTW, what are PID's? PID's are Persistent ID's. They are what allow dimensions in LayOut to be connected to the model and update automatically if you change the dimension in SU. If you delete a line or a point that is being used by a dimension in LO, though, the ID goes away and the dimension loses its connection.

As I understand Layout is for publishing projects. Sketchup is for sharing files with partners. And that is the whole story. You can export layered DXF with Skalp.

Arrange your trays as you wish and 'Save as Template'. Of course you can save other parameters also.

In the scenes manager, make sure "visible layers" is checked, select the layers you want visible, then update, then save. If not, each scene changes with the current layer selection.

@rtd said: Is it possible to convert a SketchUp object to a LayOut object; that is, a real LayOut vector object, not just a link to a SU file? Yes it is. First render the viewport as Vector. Then right click on it and choose Explode. You may find you need to ungroup and possibly more than once.

Just a heads up that Dave is working with the LO team to resolve the issue. However in the meantime I would suggest using the ROUNDUP and IFERROR functions in Excel. For example: =IFERROR(ROUND(O11/5.678,2),"") This has solved my issue in LO.

@pbacot said: if you have linked scenes and want to put unlinked SU model views into the same document? You can't use unlink can you? And besides this has to be done for scores of references each time? Probablly better to just use an image. It is not 100% clear to me what exactly the OP is trying to accomplish. (Not being critical) I do know "unlinking" a SU model causes a file "prefix" save of SU model. So, and based on OP workflow.........seems to me...... if he unlinks the "primary" SU model reference in LO (now unlinked SU model is also unique/separate from original file w/(automatic) assigned prefix to SU file) Any modifications to original SU model/file will not affect "unlinked" SU model file........but....of course the original file, if modified will no longer be updated in ANY LO viewports. Now....here is where it gets interesting.......if OP is working with the original SU file and "sends to LO" any revisions/etc. and then further "pastes" from another LO file to the original LO file, it would seem a new (active) link to the SU original (pasted) file would be created. Effectively having the live viewport(s) limited (isolated) to the "pasted" viewports from original SU model IDK......seems really muddy and fraught with potential negative implications.....just my two pennies worth. Is this possible? hahaha ha haha erm, no, unfortunately I'm hoping this happens in the new update due sometime later this year Sad thing. I hope it will change in the future. Thanks for the answer anyway! Cheers!

266mb? Have you tried purging unused stuff? I'd bet there's some. Yes, you would use File>Insert if you are starting a new file from LO or you want to add other SKP files. You want to avoid creating multiple references to the same SKP file. That creates problems. FWIW, the LO file contains a copy of the SKP file so the LO file size is directly impacted by the size of the SKP. If you had multiple references to your 266mb file, the LO file would be grossly overweight. And for no benefit.
