Layout - Changing the Standard View = modified scene
-
I am trying to implement the suggestion seen in many posts to keep my Scenes unmodified so that automatic updating will work.
To avoid having to create a scene for both the front and back I was hoping to simply change the view in the layout viewport however then the scene is shown as "modified". Will my models still update?
Even if they do then how can I ensure that I have not accidently created a more serious modification.

If the scenes show as modified in LayOut, scene-specific changes will not show in the viewports. Editing geometry, as in change shape or adding materials will update but other things like changing layer states or style or section cut display won't show.
Why are you so resistant to doing it the right way and making things easier. Most of the problems users report related to the display of the model in their LO document stem from creating modified scenes. It's easy enough to avoid making them modified and doing so removes all sorts of headaches.

Point taken - will do!
