It is irritating that the first, seemingly 'the most important', information was: @unknownuser said: Most folks who use SketchUp are also fans of Google Earth, so I thought I'd let you know that there's a new version available. We wound rather appreciate an info when SU8 Maintenance release will be ready.

traceparts has thousands of models on the 3d warehouse. They aren't "SketchUp Ready", but overall are not bad for a start.

@unknownuser said: works ok here (Chrome/OSX). see if the user doesn't have any antivirus that mess things up. or you can use TeamViewer and debug on his machine As it turns out - the user had Norton Antivirus installed. When he disabled that everything worked fine. His browser was Safari - but I'm not sure if that is of any significance. I do say... Norton... blocks secure HTTPS sites... So the issue is now resolved. Thanks guys for checking.

I am working with http://min.us guys to implement Sketchup .skp support for their drag and drop dropmocks clone. Dropmocks was a open source proof of concept by Google Chrome UI lead Glen Murphy and I dont think that it will evolve more.
