Not sure where to put this, but the Corner Bar seems right.
Competition to design a Christmas tree. A nice opportunity to show what Sketchup can do with a good rendering program. Prizes are not really worth the effort, so ....

Components can be downloaded as .skp files. The models usually need cleaning up after importing, but otherwise a useful resource. Free to register and easy to use.

traceparts has thousands of models on the 3d warehouse. They aren't "SketchUp Ready", but overall are not bad for a start.
