Something I am looking at for a wall, is a dragon 'breaking through. the wall with a light source insert in the chest. Just mucking about tbh.

Camille, The diffuse map gives the general aspect of your material. The bump map is a kind of height map. It is usually a greyscale image (RVB though), where dark areas are the low zones and bright ones are high zones. In somes cases, the diffuse map can make the deal.

yah...im using CGtextures as well..so i can change my skies using dome sky..ive added a light inside the dome sky..and that would be my source of light.. actually when i render, and even i unchecked the default light and hidden lights from vray option..SU sky will still exist, and i dont know how to turned it off..thats why i did used the dome sky to prevent light coming in..and put a NEW light inside the dome.. hehe..

I like the "feel" of this project. I do agree that it needs some more detail to really make it stand out. From the angle you shot the image from does not help the lack of detail either though. Maybe some images from ground level with some added detail would give more insight into the project. Good work! Scott

Really nice render (love the background haha), but the wheels and tyres look very strange, far too big for the wheel arches- I've seen this a few times on 3DWH car models, not sure why.

Chris, if you look at the very first image he posted, not the second one, you will see he has posted the new tumbler, even though it is a bit dark.

@pbacot said: er may a newbie interject? What is the meaning of "proxy" in this context? Why is it useful? Note the rough, angular image of the seagull head in the left background of the picture of the three heads. That's the proxy for the center image. I only had to draw that much, then SubSmooth took it to the next step (the center image). SubSmooth subdivided every polygon in the proxy, smoothed it, then did it again a second time. SubSmooth is like a "magic wand," and the folks here like to "see the proxy" rather than see only the finished image, because they like to see the magic*. That said, even creating the proxy is hard for me. Getting my head (and eye) around actually drawing organic shapes in 3D is a completely new experience for me, and I'm really enjoying it. *Magic is provided by Whaat, proxy is provided by Teezer. YMMV...

Bytor, Nice render and the furniture looks good but you may want to rework the textures. There is quite a bit of tiling going on. Scott

The floor's a bit shiny, but other than that it's a pretty decent image.

The house itself was hand drawn. Rendring was done in Photoshop. I was hoping to post a larger image like everybody else is doing but when I upload it was only asking me to have 800x800 pixels and not more than 256k of size. I must admit its not very nice up close. Its better to look at it a far.... Anyway thanks to all the feedback and comments. Hope to do more soon. Tesmeko

@daniel said: Which rendering program(s) are you using? Can you post a raw SU image? A big part of the battle is good modeling and good texturing. Interesting looking building, btw. vray for the 1st rendered pic, the rest are just the su files exported to piranesi, im wondering if I should be a lot more detailed. [image: houseonefront.jpg] back view [image: backview.jpg] thanks for everything dee
