Or better yet and Empty lot with a building for sale sign draped on the building. Maybe a broken down van with trash collecting on the parking lot and weeds growing in cracks...hehe you get the picture now I have an idea maybe next time I get a rendering job I do just that and submit it to the client and see what reaction I get...I can say Oh I thought you would like to see what the building will look like in 20 years when people no longer use cars for transportation because there is no more oil left.... However I'd have the real one done first so I could send that to them as soon as they stop laughing.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. It is a nice restoration project, as most of the exterior and interior are intact; but it is loaded with all kinf=ds of code problems (not least of which is that hideous handicap ramp in front). Modelhead, I might take you up on that offer if I can get some decent photos of the stone. My boss was/is under the impression that that rough stone texture has to be modeled! Right now I have to set this aside and work on other more pressing projects, though.

Hey Justin, Google still hosts the plugin for download here: http://sketchup.google.com/download/previousplugins.html Its in the "Functionality Enhancement" section. But yeah, it does not include the Red One camera. And the ruby script is encoded, so its not possible to add cameras to it. Chris

Well since I bought Subdivide and smooth yesterday my modeling today seems to be allot better. I refined my RX-78 and now its so much smoother then before. Heres an example image. Hopefully this model will continue to come out the way its going now. [image: Body_and_modifications_by_Troopermanaic.jpg]

WOW! You must be REALLY fast, or not getting much sleep, if it's all done in the evening. Now to give some careful thought as to what kind of creature's going to be flying this masterpiece/monstrosity...

yes it is weird, especially the outdoor 'al fresco' kitchen haha.....but you gotta give him some credit....its the first thing he's ever designed! the model was an absolute nightmare to work with: no layers, no groups, no components, no textures, no trees, no windows, no lights......just pure messy geometry (takes me back to when I first learnt SU!!)

actually for the ropes and netting I just create a new layer and then set a stroke to the outside of the brush stroke and make that stroke dark gray and paint with white physically painting in the netting a ropes, the stroke adds to parallel edges that give the illusion of ropes or netting, the writing on the live bait sign is drawn by hand, and the Great white signage is done in photoshop text tool Bob

Thanks mate. It is great compliment coming from you You should try it. It is quite easy soft to go with. Image lighting is very good. You have several choice of blend. I find linear goes well with interiors (better ambient) and IBL goes best with exteriors. At moment the power of sun is not controllable but I believe it will come in next version. Also, slightly confusing, material editor stores relative values of bump, specular and reflection. The absolute values will come in next version, which makes more sense. Nice thing about it is that mat editor is real time and you can either use slider or maps. The bump is based on normal maps (better quality) or in absence of that bump maps would be used. Lighting is either, sun, omni or area lights. Animation is quite straight forward. You press record and move about and when had enough stop. At moment the files are huge as they are not compressed, so hopefully some sort of compression feature will be implemented. Camera is nice. Movement feels like real camera with parking. Also you can save pano images with one click. There is also possibility to save .fbx files for export of lighting to other software. I have not played with it but I hear works well with Maya and Unity. Feel free to ask mate. If I do not know the answer than Adam will The workflow is quite simple. The imager quality is good. Still renders are .tiff and allows for a lot of post process without killing the image. I agree the mapping needs to be tweaked and also corner joint is missing.
