Thank you guys for your nice comments. Actually my son doesn't pay too much attention to this picture, he is already kind of blasé..! Kim, I'll post this one on the KT forum, just to give details on the lights (9 IES + 2 panels/emitters).

Very nice model! I greatly enjoy your posts. More, please! (As for the style - I agree with Kwisten. This kind of stuff proves Tom Wolfe wrong. Though maybe not in a way he'd like. )

@anglaret said: Thank you Mateo Anssi, I suppose that you have been annoyed by roofs retaining snow and leaking water in your country; a good contractor solve it quite well round here Marc Why leave resolution to the contractor. Good design could solve it with out a contractor. I know it's possible to do many things I just think why make things difficult when good design could make them simple. Having the garage roof drain towards the gable end of an adjoining structure is in my opinion bad design. you could easily add a saddle to the design to drain water to the front and back of the garage with out too much noticeable design revision. just my opinion. nice rendering though.

It takes some experience and time using Podium to make good renders.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't forget about RC4, but I am not sure what exactly will be the concept of that. It's quite difficult to understand how it will work and what it will do by reading the little info that is available on the Fry render forum...

Looks great, Ross... (but I already knew that your digital watercolors are fantastic... ) And with the low exchange rate, Xara Xtreme Pro is actually really cheap...

Hi Stu -- I'm chuckling because although I'm usually hyperfocused on plant material (that being my occupation) -- in this model I was just happy to get the arbor built, the scene corresponding to the photo and the model presented in Layout. I threw some plant material in a hurry to flesh out the scene more fully. The large evergreen tree on the right side of the model is a California Redwood. I couldn't find either a 2d or 3d component from the SU library that came close. So I stuck in the green "blob" component. I trust that as I transition to PR renderings there will be more trees and plant material to choose from. And there is a gentle slope up from the road to the house -- so the stepping stones are actually stepped up. In Sandbox that's how they came out -- since lowering them at all would bury their "noses" in the upslope. I'm still on a learning curve with topography and steps. The model on your website of the terraced planters stepping up to the house with the garage on the right side is my inspiration of where I'd like to get to. Danty
