Thanks flipya. Render? Hmm. No, I hadn't thought about it. I'll probably continue to improve my modeling skills before I start rendering things. I want to work in this field (3D modeling) and I feel I need to be as versatile and efficient as possible before I say "sure, I can do that." So my plan is to first master modeling, then rendering. That way, I'll have a bunch of stuff to render, right? Thanks rclub24!

Yeah I think you are right CoreMaster, I have basically tried to make a sort of backlighted keyboard but the render is not very good, I got to learn a lot on this, here is a version with dark grey inscriptions, sort of macbook color combo actually. Will try now to work on some other SU works that I will submit soon. Cheers [image: amIA_rendergreytouches.jpg]

@honoluludesktop said: My graduate prof. Utzon's entry in the Sydney Opera House was only selected after the jury decided to re-look the rejected projects. I heard the legend that what happened was that the jury had it all already set up when Eero Saarinen who was the chairman had yet not arrived. He came, went to the rejected pile and picked Utzon's proposal out of there. I have also gone to some competition exhibitions (in Finland all the proposals for an open competition are presented to the public) and have found that as much as I have disliked the architecture of some winners, they always have IMO been the best solutions to the actual problems of the site and brief, and I have found it hard to disagree with the jury, even when having taken part myself. Cool, very nice and rough style! Don't see too many Piranesi creations over here, always a pleasure.

That's really better IMO Richard The warmer tones and the stronger shadow of the tree on the facade help a lot.

@olishea said: is that seriously a render? Lol! In fact it doesn't, for it looks like some photomatch. But we'll see how it goes in a couple of months, when the new version is out for test.

Very nice. I've never seen that model before. They stopped selling the Falcon here in America in 1970.

Yep, Dylan and Martha are right. Roofmaterial is part of the underlying original picture, no modelling done on that. Thanks again for comments

Thanks, Oliver. @arail1 said: I wish Vray wasn't tied to the parent app.(...) That makes two of us. Would be much more practical. Not to mention cheaper. I have no objection against buying Vray, obviously, but I really cannot justify the added cost of Max or Maya. As I mentioned, Vray for Blender (a script that connects Blender and Vray for Maya) may be a viable option. All one needs to buy, is Vray for Maya, as both the script and Blender are free. Sounds good to me.
