Another example. It may be just me, but it seems the controls and setting have changed since I last used this plug in. Also note the mid-ground trees. They aren't perfectly "see-through" as the foreground or background trees. Be warned, it makes a very computer resource heavy image. Still for free and as easy as this is to use, it's a great plug -in and I'm glad I have it working again. [image: LVdo_treehill2.jpg]

@bryan k said: Yeow and wow! How are you making the more complex curved surfaces? lots of trial and error! @chedda said: The bike looks great nice job. Axeonalias how do you suggest adding decals without creating geometry i had this problem a while back. Intersecting geometry leads to other problems notably smoothing etc. I was having the same problem which is why i created the decal separately. @pbacot said: great model ! Please show wireframe detail or explain the poly decals I've never been able to get an image map to stay in the correct location, or have the color correct. It's just been easier to create the decal and have the clean edge and colors. Most of the decals, excluding the radiator shrouds, were made flat and then turned or laid to the next flat surface after being broken apart. The decals on the Radiator shrouds were made with a duplicate of the shroud, sliced, then re-colored. From that point, the position was moved 1/32" from the surface of the shroud and adjusted as needed. feel free to look around the models i've posted on the warehouse. Over the last year or so, i've gotten a much better grasp of the application. pixelmonkey380 models on the warehouse chris<pixelmonkey>:D

Thanks for the comments, everyone! @nickchun said: Beautiful. Did you use a mask for the window? Looks like there might be a "halo" on the glass. Yes, I did use a mask. I wanted there to be a bit of bloom coming from the window. @chedda said: Looks great, this is vray ? Yes, it's Vray.

love the idea (as I can say), the renders are nice, like that they have some atmosphere and not attend to be hyper realistic, great to have some Maxwell colege

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I really like the techniques given in the site posted by unrealviz. I must also try the various assorted styles inside sketchup as suggested by Adorno. I also like the view point suggested by pbacot. It gives a better view of the building. I hope to make the corrected image soon and come back here and post it. It would be better to hear all opinions before taking the drawings to the clients.

Where the hell are the birdies! Joke. Very interesting idea! I really love it! My subjective opinion is that it's a bit to tidy, clean and straight. I don't know if I'm using the right words here, but what I mean is that it would be nice to see some cracked bricks and a bit skewed frames here and there. And birds of course!

Nice job. I like the general mood of the scene. I know what you meant with this leather material. I think it's a good thinking but probably you could improve this. Now I think it looks a bit like factory aged - you know, like with those jeans pants. They never look quite natural. Maybe some more differentiation of the spot's sizes would help. But nevertheless - nice one. Just from curiosity - what map is it?

Proper craftsmanship in there, my hope is to get a workshop on retirement and build some of the things that interest me, mainly armoured vehicles that never made it to production. Someday perhaps. Thanks for the inspiration.

@tadema said: Wow! great modeling and rendering. Would love to see some more "brighter" renders. John Thx! You're right with the brighter renders, but I don't think I will get to it in the near future... Decided to end this 'study' and go on with the next. But surely, on a fine day in the future I'll pick it up again. Here are some earlier renders, without a true enviroment, which are brighter [image: 8321974221_ddc733f945_b.jpg] [image: 8321974837_3f963fec08_b.jpg] [image: 8323035196_59f5ec27ef_b.jpg] @iichiversii said: This is great, fantastic results, well done [THUMBS UP SIGN] Thx a lot! Veeeery nice! The scene has an ominous feel to it... intended or not, I dig it.
