@jason_maranto said: With or without -- however it should be obvious that without Realflow some of the things that could make a more realistic sea (like foam maps and sea spray) will not be possible. Maxwell sea simply does the waves as you can see clearly in the documentation I linked. You're right - it is "obvious", however I am happy with this; thank you for your help. kind regards Chris

Clem, I would direct your problem to the Twilight forum or their support. Rendering time can change dramatically due to lights, materials & model complexity. Good luck!

If you are talking about rectangular beginning shape I still think Tig Extrude along path is a good option, there's no push pull involved, except for openings: Tools on surface + joint push pull. Nice looking work Kris!

Plusspec, I was chosen to find out what software to use for BIM. At the office I work everyone was telling me about Revit and that's the program we have to use. I want to show them that it's possible with SU. But still have a lot of questions. What about manufacturers in Europe (The Netherlands). I want to create my own profiles for the windows/doors, is that possible? We do a lot of restoration projects and nothing is standard. Same with the walls. If A builder uses the exported IFC file (from SU) can he continue with that file (in REVIT, Archicad etc.), can he extract quantities from the objects, time schedule etc. etc. and does 3rth parties like a constructor (structural engineer) can use/adjust the model for their proceedings. When I make a window is it possible to tag that window (automatically), and I want to use them to make a window plan with the windows separately in front view/plan view/section (see attachment). Is this possible? Room tags with area information (m2 and m3). Translation in Dutch. Is there a translation or can we do that our selfs. Does someone in The Netherlands already make use of Plusspec? Is there a way to contact them or are they on the forum. Line thickness, will that be implemented with LOD? Is section pattern (like Skalp) possible for all the elements like wall, framing, structural concrete etc. etc. When I buy a license, how is the updating process arranged. Is it a 1 time investment or does it come with a maintenance (like SU). It's not very clear on the site, only $795,- Okay I think this is it for the moment. But I just got the trial so there will be more questions. Sander Window plan

Based on some great feedback, we've released LightUp iPad Player v4.1. Its just been accepted by Apple AppStore. Its got lots of user-experience polish and also a new screen to manage your downloaded .luca files. Hope you like it. Adam

Hi there, I have the Maxwell Render suite and I've never applied Emitters using the Studio, only the plugin (you can still use the plugin with the suite). I find that for what I'm trying to achieve, that I don't need to use the Studio for Emitters. To get a 'bulb' to emit; I apply a material to the component, then using the Maxwell plugin within SketchUp I select 'emitter'. I then choose the wattage etc. To illustrate the beam of light against a wall, I create a small sphere, again apply a material to it and using the Maxwell plugin, I choose IES Emitter. Then I select one of the IES files (these would have downloaded with Maxwell Render and can be found in the Maxwell folder in your C Drive). Hope this helps! Anita

Yes, that will use whatever is available on your system. What is actually available will depend on what other software you have running and how many cores they are using at the time. Best, Jason.

In case it wasn't clear, LightUp has full 64-bit support for Windows and Macintosh. On Windows, you need to run the LightUp-x64.msi installer because Windows 64-bit applications live in a different Program Files folder, on Mac its automatic when you run SU2015. I got some topo from GE for a little side thing a few years ago, it was useful but am not sure how accurate it was, it was the GE free version. I think that kind of info is probably best to get through GE pro (not 100% sure what it's called, but the paid version anyway).

    LumenRT 2015 is fully compatible with SU 2015. Just copy the plugin over from 2014 to 2015: "C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins\LumenRT 2015.rbs" "C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins\LumenRT 2015.rbs"

Iv had great fun readin this one. Don't know how i ended up here, but im searching for what render software to go for so thats the reason. From an pleb as me comming in and reading this its very funny. Cause from what i can read here and from what i found elsewhere in my search is that there is so many prefrences to set to get it right. Some have prefrences that others don't. And that can be both good and bad in my opinion. Thats why all programs have defaults. And what is the default? well that can be a lot. And from my point of view here. And this post made me think. Cause many renders look at it with a camera point of view. The idea of you taking a picture of something "real". While lightup in my mind looks at it with a human point of view. Humans don't have the same shutter speed as a camera, so we have a hard time capturing what a camera can do. Both are kind of wrong and right, right? You can't compare a human to a camera I think this is more of a argue about default and standard. Thea which i think i will go for btw has a setting as a camera, but it should be easy after this thread to set the "camera" to act like i as a human see the world, thus showing of lighting in scenes to client as they will in real life. Like my profile picture. it capture a moment of me driving, but its just impossible to redo that picture standing still. i would just fall to the ground.
