Bump! I'm going to forget that TIG's code/solution existed in 2 months and re-post my question...

Use the boundingbox plugin, and add an X on the bottom of the box. Group everything and then reposition the center point of the X on the origin (it's a clickable point).

Yes, exactly. Like in the example above where standalone edges were grouped separately from the mesh itself. THEN they get exported displayed.

@unknownuser said: "I chose the 3ds format again because in obj the model was importing into Poser in at two different scales and 3ds was not." ah this one, when you import in poser, you'll have the choices "Percent of standard figure size 100%" and "centered" turn those OFF. ok, the model will import at a huge scale,(poser scale is tiny. a legacy thing), but it will then import at the correct scale with each other and in the correct position to each other. then in poser, open the Hierarchy Window, and drag the pieces together to form a single unit (eg, for your model above, drag "Dome" so it becomes a child of "Walls"). then select the parent and rescale that. the child parts will rescale as well.

Thanks a lot guys. The load method is just what I was looking for. Here's what I've written in the first file and it works: require 'sketchup.rb' def drawc load 'cubegrid2.rb' include Cubegrid drawgrid end UI.menu("Plugins").add_item("cubegrid") { drawc } Every time I call cubegrid from the Plugins menu, it reloads the cubegrid2.rb file and executes its main method, drawgrid, from the module Cubegrid. I realize that the function names aren't very descriptive and quite uninspired, but that's not important and the moment . Again, thanks for the help.

Oh man, he was hilarious. He was kicked out of dropbox because his (rather huge) texture packs got millions of hits in a couple of days.

ah yes, that's the PMnotifications you get when a new post is approved (only newly registered members). I would say leave the option for admins to email you. This means that if you subscribe to your own topic or you get a PM, you will receive an automated notification. I am too lazy to send you emails (and if I really want, that option cannot really stop me as I have access to your email address). If we want to send out board emails, we now use a reliable, 3rd party service. If we send out something from here, that can only be in case of emergency (like the site hacked and an important warning to everyone to change passwords or similar).

Oh my mistake, I'm seeing this is for photomatch. Yeah, those kinds of pics are not setup for photomatch. I was thinking he was just trying to match it up manually.

You can also use the built-in Offset Tool on two or move preselected edges and type in an amount to offset a copy OR offset all of the edges of a selected face by an amount. There is also a double-line tool [dline] by Didier Bur / Jim Foltz, it's available from the crai depot http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/rld/plugin_details.php?id=804 Or in this post here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=297720#p297720

Hi, could you please elaborate on why you need it to be a server/client system? To my understanding, SketchUp only works locally and its hardware requirements aren't that high.

The API result is correct... even if two points are identical in their x/y/z they are different Point3d's. Either compare them as arrays to find it they ARE 'equivalent'... or use the 'set' functions...

SketchUp generally does not seem to like other ways of arranging your screens than those allowed by the standard Windows settings. Using Nvidia's Nview, for instance, does not seem to work. Anssi
