Match Photo problems.
-
I'm having an insane amount confusion and frustration trying to get this all sorted out.
My problem is that after lining the X and Y axis bars, it's the Z axis that's lining incorrectly. Instead of the Z grid streaming straight down along side the vertical edges of the building in the photo, it streams outwards on an angle according to my view.
Here is the photo I'm trying to recreate.

Hi Erasnier,
While that photo may be a very artistically distorted - architecturally "desired" one (read about shift lens here), that is in fact an artificially distorted "perspective" which has nothing to do with reality.
Photos used for PhotoMatch must not be distorted in any way (not even cropped unless you know what you are doing). In my opinion, that photo is almost impossible to work from.

Ah damn. Thanks for the help anyway.

You don't think that is do-able with regular SU Gai? I think you can get close with a wide FOV - around 80 maybe? And change to 2 point perspective.
I guess you might not be able to line it up perfectly, but I think you could at least get a really similar result.

Well, you can always torture SU and yourself but IMO the pictures are not the best because you cannot even see the whole building either. For best results (for PM), you would need all the visible corners bot around the roof and the ground.
Later you can play with FOV but PM s in fact to set/get that FOV so that you can match your building to the photo and project the textures onto it. This needs photos that have not been pre-distorted.

Oh my mistake, I'm seeing this is for photomatch. Yeah, those kinds of pics are not setup for photomatch. I was thinking he was just trying to match it up manually.
