Wow nice! Mind making a tutorial explaining how you did it?

A fun side note with using XPadder -- You can hook it up to use SketchUp's native walk, look, and collide. If you modeled a building, you can walk around in it with the gamepad. A lot easier than the mouse! It's almost like playing game...

Seems good... I'll use it for now. I was thinking maybe a website that has only sketchup/sketchyphysics files uploaded? I don't need it though.

I agreed with fanka but there is biggger problem. SP recognize your bolt and nut as a "ball" shape, not the way they looks. collison area is the problem. search with the word on this board. In fact, it is very hard to make a body with complexs and concave shape in SP. For example, if you model a car in sketchup, not with sketch physics tools(box,cone..etc),SP recognize it as simple 'box' shape. [image: VW31_c1.JPG]

There is a Sketchy Physics thread at Extensions&Applications Discussons at the top of the side. [Plugins] is just for new Plugins inside the thread. It will be removed. Anyway, I can't help you in that.

You can upload the file here using the 'upload attachment' tab, next to the options tab, below the message pane.

Simulations playing slowly is something we all have to work with. Ways to reduce this 'lag' are reducing the face count of your model, and using simple physics shapes rather than convex hulls. Try and reduce the number of physics-enabled objects as much as possible, and, in complex mechanisms, set as many parts as possible to 'no collision' (In the UI). This will stop them colliding with other objects, which is the main drag on the simulation speed.

Select it like any normal object, and hit 'delete' on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can use the move tool on it to get it where you want.

Thanks, Wacov: Does this mean that SP adds some capabiliies for modeling, such as being able to move things around by dragging them? I may eventually want to do more complicated simulations with joints and hinges and so forth, but can you place things carefully, or is this a tedious operation?

You need to do every side of the frame as a "Box" and then group it together. To set the state to "Box" rightclick on the Group --> SketchyPhysics --> Shape --> Box. simple_bug.skp That is your file but the frames to left is created by several "box"-groups. Hope you understand!

Okey Perhaps the file that never show upp in the answer before understand what I mean? ROPE.skp That you see its not so hard, and Iam not good at neither scripting or english:P. This is better than having physics joints in every link that take a lot of the computer:P

If you set global variables (start with a $), you can check them out from the Ruby Console by typing them in. This'll work during the sim, and global variables will also stay behind afterwards. Btw, forgot to say the normal joint controller field also takes ruby code (Any blue field will). You can use a ';' to mark line breaks where there's only a single line to type in.

@unknownuser said: at the bottom of the first post in this thread, there's a link to a mac version: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=17877 . Ok, but there are still a whole lot of us left behind because we are stuck with our fleets of powerpcs which are still unsupported. I think this is a terrible shame. I normally donate my old powerbook to my kids when I buy a new computer. SketchyPhysics might be the single most important piece of software invented since KidPix (meaning as far as parents are concerned, those who are looking for toys that will excite and develop the imagination of their kids, there are no other important software inventions), however it is far more than a kids toy. So I am forced into a moral delemna, when I do finally get it, who gets the new mac? .

Wacov I took your model and replaced the parts inside with the ones in my model. The only problem now is to make my Track "Obey the traffic laws" Well - I would like it to stay in the correct lane.... The problem is I do not understand what is going on. It would be grate if you could explain what I should do AI Red Track P.S it takes about 15 seconds to start after I press run - Is it normal? Thank you. David.
