[image: 5k17_cheny.jpg]

I've found that if you close Sketchup and re-open it, the problem goes away. Also, if you just keep the UI minimized instead of closing it, that helps.

Very old topic i'm replying to...but relevant still. I was looking for a method to control the Sketchy Controllers via a web dialog box in sketchup. I basically want to change the interface of the sliders to other controls....drop downs, or some other html control...and have it control the sliders or directly control the joints themselves...either way. I'm sure this is possible now...but, I can't seem to find any references to it. Thanks, Joe

@hpnisse said: Hey! They are just hidden, so press "View" and then "Hidden Geometry". Then you will see all joints and stuffs. Edit: But I think is pretty hard to steer cause there is no diffrential att the rear wheels. Thanks Man!!! It's the little things!

Afraid not, i'd reccomend blender for that sort of thing, it's immensly complicated but with enough patience i think stuff like that is possible

I have not installed SKP3 but for the SKP2 in my folder Plugins, Sketchyphysic.rb is at the root It's this one who call all the rest! Maybe you have unzipp all the file and obtain a level more of name folder?

If you are talking about what i think yo uare talking about then you should simply explode the individual groups, then group the entitys back together again. The problem with copied groups with no joints is if you flip them, they will flip back when the simulation starts.

Hello! There is very simple to do that! Open the servo "UI" and insert " rightx " (no quotes) in the controller field. [image: 1b4D_Namnls.png] If you want to control the speed (a motor) with up and down arrow, just write " righty " (no quotes). It's wery simple, and this page is wery helpfull http://sketchyphysics.wikia.com/wiki/Beginner. /hpnisse

Hey. There is a simple gear creater inside the Physics Engine. When you click with the "Joint Connector"-tool in one motor/hinge/slider/piston and hold Ctrl (control) -key and press a second motor/hinge/slider/piston these Joints connect to each other, a motor/hinge to a slider/piston would be a wormgear and motor/hinge to another motor/hinge would be a normaly gear. With this trick you don´t need that much geometry in the physics model that slow it down. I had attached a model with example of a motor to slider, in two ways. first, with physics geometry and a second with physics gear connecting that I explain earlier in this text:D Physics gears.skp hope this maybe would be some help.! /hpnisse

Your right it certainly doesn't like it. I'm sorry I can't help you with this as I'm a real new to this but I'm surprized that no one else has been able to give you some insight.

When I try to do what you suggested above it doesn't change the name or default value, it just locks me out of the UI control pannel. Specifically, I change This : slider('piston299781') to this : slider('Left',0) And no changes occur to the physics but if I click off the UI box then the UI will not re-open any more. Any suggestions?

I expect that's because vacau provide free web hosting, and there are plenty of people who will use that for malicious purposes. The SketchUp users site, as far as I know, is completely safe, but like any other website, there are no guarantees, although I know I'll still use it.

Thanks for your interest, but the plugin and documentation is still WIP, with quite a few bugs, and plenty of untested code. Check out http://sketchyphysics.wikia.com/wiki/LazyScript_Plugin for the latest documentation and release of the plugin, and http://sketchupusers.vacau.com/index.php to provide feedback, in the 'Ruby Scripting' section (I'm not active on this forum, nor is Mr. K)
