I bought one of Bonnies books from SU version 4 I think and recall it being a great source of info. If you do look into whether you can publish the extract from Bonnies book, please let us know here, I'm sure there are many [including myself] that would benifit!!!.

Try turning both object snap off, then you shouldn't get any inferencing at all.

I never print directly from my LO drawing; I always export to PDF. That way I know what my file size is and what DPI setting are.....

PS: Just to let you know I too have issues with LO but until it is formally released [drop the beta tag] we have what we have. I just work with what i have for the moment.....
I have to agree with Susan's comments [although not as educated on the subject I have to say]. The second two in your first post are a bit in your face....
Susan, have you ever thought about collating a "do's and don't's list" for NPR imaging? I have searched for texts on the subject of composition, contrast, etc. but to no avail. I also am intrigued with your comment [The values and colour use in the images have to be carefully thought out so that they play against one another. ]...

David, I use LO often and don't seem to have a problem with it. Post the files [SU and LO] here and I'll have a look...
I assume you are updating the model in LO through File>Document Setup>References?

I am aware that we have the following options for layers:
I hope that in the future release of LayOut we have the ability to set a layer specific to a page. [as with ACAD] If it is, it will provide another function to visibilty to a LayOut file without duplicating layers for each page...
For the past week or so I've been playing with fonts for both computer screen and for use in my work.
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have prefered AvantGardeBT for some time; full bodied, clear and ledgable at typical printing sizes.
Then I stumbled on Elementary SF.
I find that for use with sketchup [and mostly sketchy output] this font is a nice contrast. Rounded edges and a balanced type similar to that of a stencil [for those who can remember...] I think I have found my new type!!!
And I now use Myriad Pro family for screen type, emailing, etc....
