nlipovac, thanks for the thumb. to answer your question.... left space under shelf open because of the need for unobstructed space for cable box , dvd player etc. I see no gain in trying to hide center case support between the drawers. it would also unnecessarily complicate the build. just my feeling.

Rich, Used Twilights translucent "Leaf" material template on the flowers. I'll have to try one with more transparency and give it another go.

@tuna1957 said: Lisa, Making mistakes is part of the learning process so don't let it get you down. I made plenty of mistakes early on, heck I still do. The mistakes just aren't as bad or as often as when I first started. Soldier on and try new things and don't worry about making an error. That's why SU has an eraser tool . Thank you for your kind words Nice to see that even professionals still mess up 'cause I've been struggling a lot with SketchUp. I try to keep getting better at it, though.

You're right. It is fun to create a model for the heck of it, and the more complex the better. I just finished a job for a colleague that had me do fully detailed models of 10 pieces of period furniture, working from an inaccurate cutlist, crummy exploded views, and some photos that didn't always show me what I needed to see. So, of course, the first thing I did after I completed the last model was to make another model for myself to put in the 3D Warehouse. Best, dh

slbaumgartner , thanks for the heads up about the drawer slides. I don't want to admit how many years it's been since I've really looked at what's available.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Wondered the same thing about the way the legs were attached in the real desk. Had good front and side view photos I worked from , so leg angle is pretty close to the original. Wondered if the "wood" leg is actually sleeved over a metal leg that is welded to a flange plate that is attached to the drawer boxes ? No big deal I don't plan on building one and it has a pretty good cool factor for my models.

The suburb our ranch house was in had about 4 or five house designs, but even though you could recognize the design, no two were alike. The developer changed each one - they were mirrored, the brick/siding was changed, windows, etc. Nowadays they really are identical cookie cutter houses.

Thanks for your feedback tuna, I was a bit worried that I had offended you somehow. It was a critic wich sole intention was for you to be able to get an even better model. I've struggled against such things recently and was only able to do it with the help of blender, substance designer and a lot of trial and error as I have never used subd or artisan plugins.

Thanks Daniel. Yeah a little dark , was sort of what I was shooting for actually. Don't know why but if you click on the small image to view full size it doesn't look quite as dark as the small sized image . Still plan on running some new views and when time allows.

Too bad they do not build them like that anymore, here in Texas there was a builder called Fox and Jacobs that had a few models just like that late 60's -70's. [image: QTSi_le3503e45-m0xd-w640_h480_q80.jpg]

Massimo , Was able to extract the .png file out the .skm file using SU material edit . Converted to RGB in Gimp. Have no bloody clue how to get the converted .png back into .skm ? Imported the converted image into a test model and it rendered fine. Thanks for your help.

HornOxx , thank you very much. Rich , appreciate your input. I'll have you know I never buy irregular oranges . actually never occurred to me to ovate their shapes a little. as for stems oops they have no stems . I was shooting for a high glaze ceramic look on the bowl and canisters, but I have a noise map I got from the Twilight forum that I'll give a try on the canisters , sort of a side by side comparison. thanks much for the positivity and the critique. chuck.
