Figured I'd post this here as it's definitely not a finished render. Put this scene together to try some lighting I haven't done much of. Like where it's headed but need to tweak a few things. Got to change out the pillows, the two button tufts look waaay to much like eyeballs looking back at you ๐Ÿ˜ฒ . Have to play with the textures on the Brutalist wall art. Their just not giving me what I want. Last but not least I have to find me some better images for using outside the window. I just grabbed the first one I came to..... Make a few adjustments cook it again and I'll post another pic for comparison. F.Y.I. Rendered in Twilight and all the props are my models except the curtains, their out of solo's curtain pack. Thanks solo ! :fro.

Added an updated image. Tweaked materials and light settings. I think I improved it ?

Again, I like learning things from people like you.

        Couple of questions:

        1. I am not doing as well with my lamps. Any tips on how you achieve the affect you do with the lamps?
        2. How/where did you get Solo's curtain pack?

Hey Dave..... Learning from people like me can put you on pretty shaky ground sometimes ๐Ÿ˜ฎ .

Solo's curtains are in the SketchUcation store. Top of your window click on shop > models. They're UV mapped ready to go. Pick the ones you want , scale to fit , texture and viola ! You got nice curtains.

Now about the lamp. To start your lamp shade can't have thickness. Just the outer face. Apply what ever color/texture you like in SU. In Twilight material editor select your shade and use the Translucent > Leaf setting. That lets the light glow thru the shade. Place a point light in the shade approximately were the light bulb would be in a real lamp. Set your point light up for whatever properties you desire. The one in the render is set up as an incandescent bulb 60w. Try a radius of 1.0 to start.

All that said I got a little carried away with the lamp in the render. It actually has a to scale socket and bulb in the lamp. I put a point lamp inside the bulb. the point light radius is .75 and I give the bulb Architectural glass > common in the material editor.

Plan to post the pic in the Twilight forum and give more info on the overall setup. cheers ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Here I would like to crumble biscuits on the floor, spilling red wine and play with my grandparents Rummy (about pennies ...).

No in depth appraisal but I like your render, it is great as is.

faust07, my mother would have beat me if I got crumbs on the floor , played a card game called rummy as a child ?

Thanks Mike Amos, no worries, I in depth appraise myself into the ground...
