Trying to expand the SU and render skills beyond what I do on my job. First experiment with a house exterior. Far from perfect , but it's a start on learning new stuff.......

chedda , JQL , thanks for the kind words. Coming from two gentlemen with your skills means a lot.

txdave , know what you mean... grew up in south florida , plenty of these kind of ranch homes down there. got pretty fond of them over the years.

                I like the overall style.

Something you might try with the grass texture is to slightly increase the size in the material editor. While not perfect, it helps to soften a lot of "tiling."

I find this works on other materials as well. You do have to experiment.

First picture is default size of materials tile.

I like the tiling grass in this image... gives it a retro look!

Sometime tiling for lawns creates the illusion of a fresh cut.

Nice image. Try an orthographic view of the front

Bryan , JQL , Rich , Thanks for the positive comments . It's funny you mentioned the grass tiling. When setting up the render the tiling was bugging me a little, then i had an aha moment. Looks like they just cut the grass ! Bryan , I'll file your comment on scaling the lawn for future use. The experiments continue. Feel like a mad scientist at times. Proves even a tired old bird can learn new stuff.....

I would make that lawn in strips, make the one strip and then repeat, turning each alternate strip so as to create a difference to replicate a lawn mower 'cut'.

Mike , think I'll put a 3D man with his 3D mower in there and let him do the work.........

Too bad they do not build them like that anymore, here in Texas there was a builder called Fox and Jacobs that had a few models just like that late 60's -70's.
