I tried it for an hour. It is Revit from the start. The philosophy is "keep it simple". Good concept, but still basic. The problem is, as always, how to keep "simple" while adding needed features.

Either Trimble will buy RubySketch or Autodesk will buy the company.
You've got it right! I think that's the purpose of pumping up the balloon...

RE: Make North and all elevations have even light and shadows
Warning!
"It will realign North in each processed view, but all recent versions of
SketchUp allow only one North at a time, so you'll need to copy the model's
SKP for each shadowed view and use the scene-tabs to get proper shadows..." -
RE: Make North and all elevations have even light and shadows
Elev45shadows.rb plugin works well.

RE: No modifications, Officer(heavily modded Trabi anyone?)
Topology is so nicely following the forces that I would make a real car with the lines.

RE: ID33 LUX LIVING
I think that bump, or displacement is inverted on the brick wall.

RE: Help! You're my only hope...
Wow!
1 The hardware is more than enough...
2 Will have to remove all the plugins, than add them one by one to find the cause..Just to remind you

RE: Help! You're my only hope...
I am not an expert, but this looks like data transfer problem, which means it is connected with HDD, RAM and maybe GPU memory. So, I would check difference between two systems. It would be best to post your hardware profiles here. This is a good tool for that http://www.hwinfo.com/

Well done sir........I am just trying to learn how to render and things like this represent the target I am trying to hit. Mine does not need to be a photo realistic as yours but it is the type of result that is inspirational.
Thees type of renders is the target for all of us...

RE: Panoramic scene ground floor
Nice presentation.
What software did you used for making online interactive panorama? -
RE: Revised Desert weekend home
Nice flowing open space design, but I don't think it is in nature of the material. Maybe back side. The front is obviously concrete.

RE: Crack Versions
I think that all big software companies have their own "cracked" version to catch new users. When some of them become pro, they will by the best software - one they've been using for years. It is like prolonged trial version.

RE: [Plugin] Add Scene Layer v1.0
It works for me. Thanks. I like shortcut plugins which don't need my attention.
-
RE: Pointillism & Labyrinth
Thanks again, though we already have this "noise" with progressive render engines

RE: Is it OK to share plugins simply by copy&pasting the files?
Yes. I prefer this way to have more control. I use Program Data/Sketchup 2015/Plugins folder on Windows

RE: Corona Renderer for Sketchup

Ok, I done a short trial run of Thea, I'm sorry but I am not convinced, as it is somewhat too slow in rendering and the interface is a little too convoluted for my tastes. Much prefer Podium's interface and Twilight's simplicity. Still sticking to Twilight for now...
This is strange. Thea is fastest rendering engine at the moment, comparing to Maxwell, Vray, Corona... Twilight and Podium are not even in its league. (Twilight is based on old KerkyTHEA engine from the same creator as Thea and was not developing at least for 5 years now). What engine did you used when doing your short trial run?
