[request] architectural blueprints resource?
Hi everyone,
For people that model vehicles this site is very useful http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/
(posted here before several times)Where do architects get existing plans from? I am especially interested in modern architecture since 1920. I found some in my books but they are mostly printed too small. Google picture searching did not give any results. I guess that it is not that easy, and I fear that such an extensive resource like the blueprints for architecture does not exist on the web.
Universities? Libraries? How do you architects get hold of blueprints? Please could someone point me to the right trail?thanks in advance

RE: Living corner
Thats a nice one Fred. I like the lighting and the colors.
You keep impressing with constant quality... -
RE: Day And Night :::
Oh, sometimes it is in front of my eyes but...
Making all geometry black (blackout) and then just painting the object you want to mask white. That is so much easier - thanks for this one!
Also thanks for the tut on light streaks, I'll remember this for my next night scene.
cheers

RE: Twilight project
Right Frederik, I second that. It is very rare to see a whole project documented - I like to watch that.
Good job jo-ke! -
RE: I love the renders of laptop-rendering.com
Hi,
For a start my recommendation would be to take a look at the SketchUp-Artists page. There you can find plenty of descriptions on different techniques and styles.http://www.sketchupartists.org/
For example have a closer look on how Oliver Shea does it:
http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/the-quasi-clay-style-by-oliver-shea/For sure you need to learn on how to do a line overlay:
http://supodiumforum.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=1578151If you want soft lights and shadows (like in the second picture on the floor) you need to fake them in Photoshop or you have to employ a rendering software...
happy if this helps

RE: Day And Night :::
@ sepo : Wasn't it "blackout.rb" or am I having one too? Cant find it in my plugins...
edit: yep, found it here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=15790&hilit=plugin+blackout
could work, but since blackout colors all geometry in black you have to delete what you don't need in your mask. luckily it doesn't color backsides.

You are WOWing us mad again and get standing ovations. Deservedly!
Concerning Sepos question about car paint, how was the selection possible without a material-ID pass?

RE: Watercolour
Oh, this makes a lot of sense, David!
I must try this as soon as possible, THANK YOU!!! -
RE: Just think... and make it happen...
well, I have watched it from beginning til end right before my previous post...

RE: Just think... and make it happen...
oh my god
imagine you are sketching while walking around the construction place, or just sitting in the street having a coffee...
For photomatch it needs some glasses with built in monitors though -

You're right Alex, good eye for detail!!!
thanks, actually I didn't do much exept inspecting what you have modeled. It is always fun to do that with models I find well designed - and in this case I like the graphic style of your trees very much.

RE: Try clothes before buying on internet!
Nice find Mike, I am having an eye on online tools and software too. Its fun to see things developing.
Can imagine that many will find fits.me useful - but I doubt it would convince me to buy clothes on the internet. I feel better when I can touch the fabric and see the quality before buying. Have a lot of shops nearby and no time for return procedures

RE: White House...
thanks for sharing your workflow details too, that is very interesting!

RE: Watercolour
Yes, very beautyful indeed. If we would'nt have SUArtists already, I'd say its time to start a watercolour-fan-page...

RE: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
Woohoo! Thomas, this is a fantastic modelling tool! I feel so lucky watching this wonderful software growing in your hands. Gizmo control? how cool is THAT?
btw, nice to hear your voice again

RE: White House...
Applause! Great job, I like the simplicity and the lighting a lot - just the gate door seems unfinished.

RE: Nature by numbers
Pilou, this is a wonderful link, thanks for posting. I never make bookmarks for Youtube, this is my first one. (!)
Juan, maybe my antivirus program (avira antivir) is mistaken, but I get a serious warning when entering the site you have linked. Hope this is false alarm, but I thought I'd rather post this than not mentioning at all.
cheers
