      just by the way,

we germs have some funny terms in literary language. For example in the army a wheelbarrow is called "einachsiger Dreiseitenkipper" which could translate to "mono axial three side tipper". No idea if this sounds funny in english, but every time i come across a barrow I can't help it. ๐Ÿ˜†

      sorry for off topic

    • RE: Problems importing 3ds files from max to sketchup

...did a lot of testing, but no solution so far.

'exporting selected' does not help either.

'aligning pivots to world' makes it even worse.

I really need some help cause it's an important project, is someone here who knows how to fix this in Max?

    • RE: Problems importing 3ds files from max to sketchup

      Hi everyone,

I am running into the same problem with some furniture models from the web.

In Max it is obvious that the groups all have different position of axis.

Could someone point me to the right direction what exactly to do in Max to fix all axis at once?

Pete, what did you mean by "dragging a selection block"?

After searching the web quite a bit and messing with pivots I'm still clueless.
I used only SketchUp in the recent years, my little Max knowledge seems to have disappeared completely, please help me out...

      thanks

Hello Frederico, happy new year to all,

      Beautiful bookcase, very convincing simplicity.

I also found the joinery very interesting but did'nt get anything from the web (exept that pdf in italian), so I made a request at our local Wรผrth store.
Took them a while to find out that this particular product (plastic rail invisible fitting - whatever) can only be ordered if you are a customer based in italy - meaning you need to have a italian cusomer account at Wรผrth. Hm, Could that be for tax reasons?

However, now that we have found you Federico, and you have found this secret market niche, you might make a lot of bucks along the way ๐Ÿ˜‰

      cheers

    • RE: Lighting Study - Maxwell & SketchUp

excellent work, congratulations! This model has loads of potential, you must be enjoying your job. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Myself I don't use Maxwell but Thea, it has this similar feature (multilight/relight) which I consider indispensable since I have it available.
Would you mind to show us some more tweaks?
For example imho the streetlights in the distance look fabulous, but in the foreground they don't show on the asphalt at all.
On the building the central floors are a bit low key while the open parts left and right seem to be burning out already.
      Obviously just suggestions...

    • RE: Corail table lamp by Jaques Charles

in this case I really wanted to make the model as fast as possible to impress a colleague, and was lucky because it worked out ok. But the result is definitely not a good example for clean geometry in organic modelling - so please be aware that this is rather a quick'n'dirty approach.

oh yes, that would be possible with artisan - not too difficult... Nice render TIG ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, looking into the microcosmos space seems endless as well - now I feel endlessly tiny and mighty large at the same time. This is a moment to read one of Douglas Adams' books to prevent panic.. ๐Ÿ˜†
