RE: Movie clip within sketchup animation
Interesting, can you give a link to the animation?
probably it was made in postproduction... -
RE: Any News?
Sniff, I really loved the videos from Basecamp '08. Seen them over and over. Well, let's see what the "notes" can bring across. How could I be complaining about something that is free anyway? . Thanks guys for the info!

RE: Parametric style patterns?
Btw, thanks Jeff for the links to the other threads, that is very interesting!
Will take some time to read through that tonight......cheers

RE: Parametric style patterns?
Hi Kyle, it is actually not very difficult.
No, not a plugin, just making an array of cones, a curved surface and a plane, then using the "drop at intersection" as well as "intersect" commands.
I've made this up for another thread but couldn't find it (scratching head)...
...so here it goes again:

RE: Google's Logo...
Thanks for the enlightment TIG! Didn't even know that carbon molecules are called fullerene.
Recommendations for a book on B.F. most welcome -
RE: Google's Logo...
ha, this is fun! Is it referring to SU8 or is there another event of the day that we sketchers only see when turning on hidden geometry?

RE: Any News?
Hopefully the tube videos will be uploaded soon. Just looked it up: in 2008 it took around two weeks before they were available - don't wanna wait this long...
Guess there has some approval to be given, so we have to repress our impatience -
RE: Exterior Hillside House
Hold on mate, this isn't a render...
Well maybe from the frosted glass I could tell it is a render...
...but it is all so perfect! How did you do that?congrats

RE: The Illustrated Jules Verne
Beatiful resource, thank you Michalis!
Many pictures show a moirΓ©e effect like wood grain caused by the scanning process.
Gives a fantastic aura - at first glance I thought it was intentional. hihi. -
RE: Baby- kid- adult chair: Stokke Tripp Trapp
Thanks for sharing!!!
In my case you hit the spot in the right time. I want to plan the furniture for our new appartment on the weekend. My brother gave me another Tripp Trapp last monday, now we have two of them and our daughter is using them extensively, seen? -
RE: [Request] Sketchyphysics: Waving water?
Well I never used SKPH, but how about two or three non-uniformly rippled/waved surfaces with translating movement... just an idea ...
cheers

RE: [component] A Few Dozen Playground Structures and Facilities
Thanks Pilou, I must be suffering from amnesia
Jean Giraud was always in my top-ten of idols... true genius he is.

RE: [component] A Few Dozen Playground Structures and Facilities
Hello Matteo, I really like your work. Just perfect how you're mastering SketchUp-only illustrations.
Somehow I cant download the models - I get chinese text in my browser and no download...
Firefox problem?

RE: N00b needs help with spots
Hi,
As far as my knowledge goes in 98 out of 100 cases if you see these light spots it is not light leaking through geometry. Although everyone calls it "light leaks" it is rather an error in the calculation of the rays. It often happens in corners and where geometry intersects and in most cases with white or default material.
Try not to use pure white, better a light grey, and experiment with higher quality presets.
Never used Kerky though, but this happens in many render engines...
cheers

RE: 3D tiles Γ la Vasarely
Thanks guys, its always very inspiring with you!
Sorry that I left alone my own thread, but there was a good reason drawing all my attention away:
Our son was born on Monday, hooray! (cant wait for him to grow up and show him around here at scf
)
Back to topic: I should have explained better what I was looking for. Actually I would not even have asked If I knew about Chris Fullmers Component Stringer. Simon Bonnet has perfectly put together what I was after:

RE: Ski lodge (WIP)
Nice nice, Richard. I like the model - reminds me that I am missing my winter trips to the mountains.
Jsteacy already said it, the lights are somehow not matching the daytime. If it is a dusk scene, your sky is too bright. If it is still daytime, the spots would not show that strong in reality...cheers
