I use the fluidray importer every day, and it works perfectly.

Creepy! I love the last image.
Somehow reminds me of some shots of "the blair witch project"

Hmm. SU does import 3ds and obj! where is the problem?

It does imports .obj, but it's not a standard, you have to get a plugin.

I just installed a .obj plugin and imported, SU has been calculating now for over 10 minutes... still waiting, we'll see, keep your fingers cross. I just might have to look into thea.

      cheers

Ehi Cmoreink: maybe you're using TIG's importer which is perfect but it's not written in C++ (faster).
I usually use the fluidimporter plugin, which is totally free (or at least it was some time ago). Go and download it here: http://www.fluidray.com/downloads

Hey Tom! What a great mood!
I'd very like to have a bath there! πŸ˜† ...well not NOW, having you all seeing me and being so enthusiastic... πŸ˜†

Just to have an idea, mind to share the non post-produced render? The PODIUM out-of-the-box output?

I also like the subtle post-production: that's visible but still very classy and straightforward.
Can you share a little small tut about the video you also made? πŸ˜›

      David!
      Those are really masterpieces!
I am very curious about how you did the 3D grass and the flowers in the first image: are they modeled by you?

delete your LiveIvy folder in side your plugins folder. make sure you have no plugins for liveivy inside your plugins folder.

reinstall by opening the last zip folder and dragging the plugin and folders into your plugins folder.

you'll need to restart sketchup. go to toolbars and turn on the liveivy toolbar.

should work. make sure that there are ivy components in your "Plugins\LiveIvy\Textures" folder.

I did exactly like this, last time. Just to make sure, I re-did that and it's just the same: "can't insert empty component" (I'm translating the message from italian). Under "View->toolbars" there is no option to turn on the LiveIvy toolbar. If I choose the tool manually, I can generate the red lines and leaves, but generating the actual geometry leads to no real geometry but a simple black line over the first stem's position (no leaves and no additional stems).

..your latest post also makes me wonder if these problems could be generated by base components saved in SU8 format..If so, could anybody convert them to the previous version, to maximize compatibility?

..I still can't figure out how to install and make this plugin properly work πŸ˜†

I've downloaded the new addition by Pejman, but same error message when loading (something about not being able to insert an empty component..).
      Moreover, no toolbar shows up.....
I'm no noob, but I really can't figure this out πŸ˜†

I recently saw this wonderful plugin for 3dsMax and was wondering that it would be really great to have a similar one for sketchup!

Just an idea if one of the master plugin developers here would make it happen πŸ˜†

    • RE: Recent Works Gallery :::::

      Congratulations free agent!
I have to agree with most of the posts before mine, saying that your work is VERY inspiring.
Another great indirect suggestion which comes from your work is "never be disappointed from your render". I'm generally wrong when I think " I want to get the perfect archviz straight out of the box": your base renders are nice, but have nothing to deal with the last output! So, thank you for sharing your work (most of all the before and after postproduction phase!) and keep up the excellent work.

PS. don't mind about stupid clients: world is filled with ignorants.

Yes, I agree: what strikes of your work is the incredible feel you give to your images. It's always great to see how you transform a render from scratch through the postprocessing phase. Congratulations!
I'd like to know if the car we see in your renders are from the warehouse, or coming from somewhere else.. In case, can you point us to some of the good cars you use? Thanks a lot!

Hi Dale! The nighttime render is very good!
..I think both images lack a little more depth in the frontal part, maybe a longer shadow of a tree, or a car in front of the garage would have helped..
