    • RE: Double-arc window

      Hi Remus!
Yes, it is high-poly, i know...
And i know it can be painful to work with in huge scenes (like the one i'm working on now, for example... πŸ˜’ 😞 i've been forced to create a layer to contain all the windows of this kind, and then freeze it when not working on...

But i modeled this component for rendering purpouses, so i HAD TO -want it or not- keep it very detailed.

Sorry again if it's too huge; next time i'll try lo upload a lighter one πŸ˜‰

    • Double-arc window

(sorry for the title, but i don't know hot to tell in english 😳 )

I've modeled this classic window frame for a renovation project in Padua. I' couldn't find a suitable capitol for the central column; if anyone can, feel free to complete the model! πŸ’š
Hope it can be of any use!

      Cheers guys!

    • RE: Using 'instancing/proxies' is fun

      Hi master Kwisten πŸ˜„
REALLY impressive images! I assume you've done an export from Sketch to fry, before the render: am i right?

If so, i'd be very very very interested in how did you map the foliage on the plants and bushes. And I'd very like to know where the rose-bush component comes from...

I've tried converting to ".3ds" some 3D trees i found for 3dsMax, but mapping every single leaf it's an endless work to do: how can you do that? If i can ask, obviously: this can be a little secret to keep, i'd understand you πŸ˜‰

      Thank you so much, however!

    • Improved Mapping System

      I really ask for it!!!
Now, as far as i know, only planar UVmapping i supported.

It would be very very useful (tell me if i'm wrong) to have the possibility to choose which kind of UVmapping we prefere, if cubic, or face, or whatever.

This kind of problem comes out when trying to map objects with curved (or simply not smooth) faces: i'm thinking about a curved cylinder, or a pillow..

UVmapping selection would make the difference mostly in interior views, though, and most of all in a rendering phase, so i understand it's a side-request.

      Does anyone agrees?

      Cheers!
