Happy for you Majid.
I thought of you the other day when I was learning that Isfahan has been a center of knowledge and scholarship for centuries. That's where you are, right?

sorry double post....
The stone at the back is really nice. Not something I'd want near MY bed, but fantastic render!
a) I live in earthquake country!
b) ...
This is great. Great mood. Except not favoring the screen/shade? material on the right. Not sure what sort of material or function it represents.

Can you post your batt insulation pattern?
Also, is there a repository, like 3d warehouse, for layout scrapbook ideas, patterns...?
Thanks so much
John
If you search "architectural scrapbook" in SketchUcation, you may get some. Here's one. IDK if it has insulation patterns but looks like a lot:

Although architectural usage is a big deal in SU discussions and promotions, besides a few features like "add Location", and shipped textures, it is not architecture-specific. And there really are no tools for particular disciplines, except as found in plugins. Whatever else the developers do, it doesn't seem they are given a mandate to make an "architecture" software. It clearly isn't the direction for SU development, so I wouldn't blame the development team. You'd think that Trimble, being what it is, would push this direction, but no.
For those that have the complaint as OP, maybe you are looking at the wrong software. I have a lot of wishes for SU too. I don't feel the developers have to meet those things to be validated in my estimation. I find SU useful enough, LO less so.
Congratulations Mike! Perseverance furthers!
amazing and beautiful. Thanks for sharing the process! Some things I may never do, but wish I understood the general approach better.
Nice!!! Somehow the pictures help with the scale.
nice balls! Can you explain how you put the numbers and stripes on?
That's cool. Don't know about the Memphis "movement" but I think I like the music better.
That won't change the dimensions already in the drawing. If you want them changed to the new format: Select the dimension entities, Open model Info, Go to "Dimension" pane and click "Update Selected Dimensions"
Nice Electrical wires
Shocking results!
Is this a "current" project or "potential" project?
Very good render! I agree with Boo some joints of some sort in the render will add a lot.
If you are speaking of the SketchUp Community forum, there aren't categories for specific versions. You can always post in the main SketchUp area, or search for 2017.
True Trimble has little reason to provide 2017 for free, yet for the moment they do. I doubt they are "trying" to destroy anything. All they have to do is remove it from downloads, if they want.
Yes a lot of people wish SketchUp were better, that has always been the case.
Trimble is supporting the "SketchUp Community" forum and some of the moderators are SketchUp employees, I believe. It works pretty well for solving issues and helping people with modeling. I've checked in there regularly and I think the moderation is fair. Many people who we know, from years of activity on this forum, also post there regularly, helping others and sharing ideas. I prefer to see the bright side of what's offered and not worry. "Sometimes I still do" complain.
You can try the Trimble website https://www.sketchup.com/ to keep up to speed. Release notes etc. And you can see what people are talking about at https://forums.sketchup.com/ (besides here).
I wonder. Do we know, is SketchUp really a cash cow? I suspect the opposite. Hope Trimble doesn't decide to give it up or pare down resources and jobs.
No. Vertex tools can help you do it "manually". And I think you have to consider what you mean by "neatly". Many would not consider what you are starting with as "neat", but you could stitch it together anyway and it would work fine for a terrain model IMO. This particular model will result in a noticeable grade break unless you used Artisan or similar to smooth it out afterwards.
Glad you are pulling through OK!

Now the question is there a plugin to find identical groups sharing the same space?
https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=29462
You don't have to turn them into components, but it will highlight the identical groups after selecting one and choosing the command in the contextual menu.
