Also in addition to pavs answer, you can use the rotate function, but if you keep your left mouse pressed down once you choose a point of rotation and move the mouse, you can lock onto one of the other axis.
yeah thats probably easier as it goes, always nice to have a component or two in the library though. he he

And off topic, that movie was the best superhero movie made to date.
couldn't agree more solo, nothing comes near it.

And your machine sounds very nice pav, what are you going to do with all that screen space? youll end up just openeing windows to fill the space
one screen for modelling,
one screen for rendering
and one for pornography/reasearch.

please tell me you have all seen iron man?
the design that tony stark has on that is AMAZING, check it out, while watching it, i found myself saying..."i wish sketchup could to that"
btw i just got myself a new computer:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 (4 x 2.66 GHZ)
8gb RAM
2x 750gb HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
and the best bit...a triple screen array (all 19")
solo i must say this is again impressive, especially the textures used on the dumpster.
rubbish never looked so good.
pav
this is how i would do it:
make the flat section into a component (select all, context click, make component)
select the move tool, and while hovering over the edge adjacent to the desired direction of rotation, you will see that four red crosses appear.
placing the move tool over these will give the ability to rotate about that point.
hope this is helpful?
pav
that would make my life so much easier.
it has already been vastly improved with the walltool.rb and the wonderful windowizer, but a ruby to do this would be amazing.

When filling out a form, in the box marked "Where were you born?" you answer 0,0,0
When asked your height you answer in World Coordinates.
this one is my favourite so far!
pav
that would be awesome...
do it, and i shall love you forever
pav
that would be amazing to use during sex...
...you could wedge it up against the door so no-one can get in.

pav
i disagree.
being a lefty who uses a mouse with the buttons still set to right-handed controls, i actually find it easier and quicker than using the shift key.
so you see, there are two solutions, either:
a) become left handed
or
b) set your mouse to left handed settings

pav
that is really nice.
i still have no idea what it is though.

i haven't been able to find it majid, any chance you could post the link?
sounds like something i would be very interested in.
cheers

when someone remarks "there must be an easier way" and you consider coding a ruby for it.
even if they weren't talking about sketchup.
pav
wont lie to you, it is growing on me the more i see it.
loving the face-on image, very cool.

reminds me of the fallen madonna, you know the on with the big boobies.
