Have you used the filter options? Like if I filter by an unique attribute, say "door" then all other items though tallied are excluded.

So a door schedule would overwrite to an excel template, then layout would read this minus the second row, the first being the header, may also be not shown as the header in your schedule would most likely be different.

See attached with simple report saved to model, the boxes and pipes are exclude other than their total

did you ever find anything to calculate these 'mixed material' groups?
I am in a similar situation now and my search came up with this thread.

Hi Napper,

Use the scale tool inside the group/component (while editing it). You can also use the Tape measure tool to scale a group/component while editing it (again). Measure an edge whose desired size you know and after clicking the second time, just type the desired value.

Again, inside the group/component (this is important as beside SU remembering that it is a custom scale, your materials will also be scaled with it).

Alternatively, if it were a component, not a group (why not?) when right clicking on a scaled component, you also have a "Scale definition" menu item. That will tell SU that this should be the "normal" size and not an exceptional one. When you have windows in a model, they are likely to be in several instances anyway in which case components are preferred anyway.

If you right click on the material in the materials browser you can Select (all of that material).

After it is selected you can repaint them with the proper material all in one click. ☀

Thanks for your reply MuseumMaker! Mh... doesn't seem to work on my Mac - I found this brilliant script "Material Replacer" from thomthom which sort of helps. You can pic a material and then pick another one which will replace the first one in all instances. Still this requires to know which one you want to replace in the model which is a bit frustrating when all of them look the same 😄 So far it is the best solution I found. Still a little ruby that would let me do the same thing the material replacer does in the material library would be brilliant...
