I saw a base camp video where they discussed the fact that when you open up SU it sends a ping to Google to let them know how many people are using the program but I'm seeing a lot more than one ping. I'm on a Mac and use MenuMeters a great little app that sits on the upper menu bar giving constant info about cpu, memory and bandwidth and noticed that when I open SU a lot more is going on than one ping. The screen shot of the activity monitor shows 0 data sent and rec but it ranges from 300-700 bytes. The terminal shot shows what app is using the internet. Just a curious thing really no more.

Now that I've got into organic modeling after using Artisan for a week or two I feel like I'm learning SU all over again and this UV mapping thing is driving me nuts I have tried UV Toolkit 2 and UV Projection plugins but seems to beyond my comprehension at this point would really like to see some tutorials as this texture thing seems like a force to reckoned with. My self taught architectural visualization would like a hand as I didn't even finish High School but really like to model and render better than any first person shooter game out there.

I for one agree with Mike, the purpose of this forum is to help people who are interested in sketchup and as for the advertising lots of it is helpful in expanding the sketchup realm mainly rendering which takes SU to a whole new level. As for render forums for different venders maybe the forum should be for rendering in general as there are forums for most if not all render products that are specific to that product. So I say let SCF be SCF and let Rome be Rome

I've used several different mice on PC and Mac the Logitec that I have now I don't like but it's going to have to do right now. It has forward and back buttons for web browsing that I like.

@ Dave when you said not load the drivers for the Logitec did you experience a floating problem with your Mac like you orbit and stop but the model keeps orbiting? because I have that problem but when I use shortcut O it seems to work fine. What do you think?

I didn't change the script at all, seems to work fine now but I still have to view with hidden geometry on to see the dashed lines with hidden geo off I see no subdivision. The reason it SU was not responding was because I did it twice because thinking it didn't work the first time just misunderstood the concept here I guess.

What graphics card do you have , had trouble any other programs, Mac Pro , IMac ,Mac book pro ?

I'm guessing that since I didn't know about the hidden geo thing. I was performing the operation twice, that caused the hang up the screen shot shows the first attempt no geometry shown and performing operation again shows new geometry but no error in ruby window because of not responding I have the SU repot if you want but it was quite lengthy.

Thanks TIG, my mistake didn't realize SplitUp was a hidden geometry thing the other two SDoughnut and SSausage did't seem to be that way created true geometry. Is this the case? Again thanks for the plugin

Must be something I'm doing wrong or did. I installed TIG-splitTOOLS-20120219a.rbz ,SplitUp v1.5 20120219 and the newest Split doughnut and sausage and Su stops responding after making the split, I watched the video Rich did for SplitUp so I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right any suggestions?

It's got to be something with the computer I have a first gen Mac Pro with Lion and SU8 M2 and the only crashes are usually the ones i cause. If your interested in working it out maybe you give me more info on your machine.
