As many as 50 to 100 tornadoes might be produced Friday, according to CNN's weather team.
Some of those tornadoes could be long track tornadoes, which stay on the ground longer and do more damage, according to the NWS. Most at risk for these tornadoes are southern Indiana, central Kentucky and parts of Tennessee.
It was a long track tornado that slammed into Tuscaloosa, AL, killing 43 and injuring 800 on April 27, 2011, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

And this is only the beginning. It is supposed to get worse this afternoon.

The WAFF 48 Storm Team is continuing to monitor the risk of more severe weather today. One round of storms has already produced at least two tornadoes.

This happened only blocks away from the spot I spent 4 days helping clean up last year. The prison is in full view of the neighborhood I was working in.

    LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Limestone Correctional was struck by a tornado and suffered significant damage Friday morning.
    A training building was destroyed.
Officials reported roof damage to two other buildings as well as two other dorms. Those dorms hold about 250 inmates each.
    No injuries were reported.
State Dept. Of Corrections says the situation is under control.
They say the maximum security prison, which houses about 2,100 inmates, is operating on generator power.
The state has mobilized additional security.

These areas are just North of my home:

Huntsville Utilities estimates that as many as 35,000 customers lost power this morning when storms passed through Madison County.
The majority of the outages are in northwestern and northern Madison County. The power outage pattern follows the path of this morning's storm.
Outages have been reported in the Nick Davis Road area, Highway 53 into the Harvest area through Old Railroad Bed. New Market, Maysville, and Riverton communities are also affected. Outages have also been reported in Hazel Green, in the Steger Road area and the Buckhorn High School area. There is major damage along Highway 432 North in Meridianville.

Thanks. Storms are winding down but a cold front is about to pass through and there is a line of storms associated with it.

There was significant damage just North of us today. I heard of one family who lost their home last April in that wave of storms. They rebuilt their home and moved in a month ago only to lose it again today. Sad. I am thankful we are safe.

This is just a couple miles from my home to the West. It did not start raining at our house until about 45 min. ago. Crazy.

Thankfully we sustained no damage. Time to dust off the chainsaw and go help the neighbors...

I hope this isn't going to become an annual event in your neighbourhood, Eric. Looks like you had another lucky escape.
I'm still puzzling over picture 6. Did it really demolish 2 silos yet leave all the grain behind? I can't even begin to imagine how that works.

A friend of my mother in law's had a garage in the hit area. He was restoring a Lamborghini, his garage was damaged but the Lambo was not scratched at all.
