Cooler here today, picking at a favourite topic, cars.
This Porsche 356 Carrera comes from the Sketchup texture club. It took/will take a fair bit of cleaning up for render within Sketchup but it is a solid, quality model.

RE: RayScaper
I prefer these tbh, the previous version had what looked like overscale texturing.
Very sharp now mate.

RE: House render Kids playing
As someone who goes for atmosphere, prbably not the best to critiq the product of others.
The shrubbery is a bit too regular and has been trimmed into liones to follow the pathways. It looks stilted, unrealistic.
The render itself with the kids playing, genuinely makes me smile. Thanks for that.

RE: Turret Bathroom Rayscaper
I have changed the lighting to multi point. Much cooler this evening so went for a render.

RE: Sketchup 2024.
Perhaps start your own thread reporting this problem, perople will notice it more then.

RE: Turret Bathroom Rayscaper
This is the original Twilight Render model, a bthroom with lighting from a skylight only.
BTW, I use the Sketchup material/colour picker these days and Rayscaper automatically picks up on that so it is easier to select textures/colours in Rayscaper for adjustment.

@Mike-Amos That's a curious bathroom layout -> Makes me curious what the layout of the building is
Join the club mate.
Actually, Fletch put a bathroom model on the TWR forum and I had been looking at some properties built between the 20's abd 50's with turrest, wondered what they could be good for (Absolutely nothing, say it again. Sad pop quote).
Decided to convert said turret into a bathroom and another as a sauna. Small units which would originally have been folly like additions so unlikely to work as stair wells.
Rendered with TWR. https://community.sketchucation.com/topic/161451/turret-bathroom

A turret bathroom previously rendered with Twilight and Maxwell render.
The second render? No clue.

RE: Texture handling
I import the texture and "Use as material, paint it onto the face you want and then richt click "Texture", "Place texture".
Four handles. No, NOT fork handles.
Scale from there.
In the instances mentioned, there is no way to use as texture or place texture. Having placed the import onto the face (Within a group) the scale goes whack when closing the group.
Explodiing the group soves the problem. Random, not consistent and there is no rhyme or reason I can see for the aberrant behaviour.
Why did I not guess the handles would not appear in the 2d export.......?

RE: Texture handling
Not had problems before 2024 tbh.
Open group, import texture, scale texture and job jobbed.
Open another group, select imported texture with selection eye dropper, paint new surface, close new group. Job jobbed. Not.
The wall with the flowers on is the imported texture. Scaled and then closed. Exploded because the texture rescaled without input from me. Exploded. Texture sorted.
The curtains in front of the patio doors show what happens when they are painted with the scaled texture. Painted while the group was being edited and open.
I have been using the same method for more than a decade without this issue.
No, not taking this over seriously, it's a nuisance is all.

Texture handling
For some reason, right clicjk and place texture etc is not present.
Also, import a texture into a group leaves the texture much reduced in scale. Cured by exploding the group.
Anyone else notice this? Is this something new I missed?
