Thanks all again!
I tried dabbling with a few renderers like kerkeythea, but most of the ones that were suppose to give result, were a but to confusing for me to learn. So I figured if I was to struggle thru learning something I was hoping to pick the one that will deliver very good final results. I've learned a few dead end programs in the past that only went so far before I had to abandon them and start fresh with something else. Besides the ability to buy an older version of max, it can do still images as well as flythru animations, something I believed was the task for two seperate programs. But I am still searching, I tried the new IDX renditioner, but it can only seames to work with my small models. My medium-(50 meg)+ models just lock things up. I'll have to give indigo a look see, I have seen it mentioned on the Sketchucation forums, but never checked it out. Thanks again to you all for your time and help.
Aloha,
Matte

RE: Worth the effort - Rendering?
Thanks All for your Advise,
It helps me decide if Max Version 7 or 8 is worth the effort, especially since I also need to make some simple flythru's as well.
Thanks Again,

Worth the effort - Rendering?
Hi All,
I am at a cross roads, time being the most critical commodity, cost being second. The opinion of those in the "know" would be greatly! Appreciated. I have the "opportunity" to buy an older version of 3DS Max. Is it (in the long run) worth learning it for (photo realistic) rendering purposes alone? I see so many rendering options, and usually get a bit overwhelmed before I can ever get any really "good" images created. I do not mind putting time into learning the "basics" of whatever rendering program that will do the job, as long as it pays off in quick and easy setup after I learn the systems methods, the rendering time is not that much of a concern at this time. Is Max a reasonable rendering solution? Or would I be better off sticking to one of the rendering packages I here you talking about in the forums.
Thanks,

Easy CAD Draw
Hi All,
My boss asked me to find a really easy drawing program, 2D CAD type? We use ACAD at work but he is looking for something really easy to do really basic drawing layouts at home, (Besides SU of course). Being able to transfering to ACAD is not a necessety, but would be nice.
Thanks,

Double Follow me
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possable to create a double follow me script, unless one already exists? In the old days I played with 3DS Max. It had a way to make a form from two 2D forms. For example an airplane wing....you made a 2D top view of a wing and then a 2D view of the cross section. It then swept the cross from the outer end of the wing the small cross section got progressivly bigger as it followed the wings expanding plan shape?
Thanks,

RE: USA user group
Actually it was an Idea that I threw out there. Originally it was to be a "list" of contact information...ie. SketchUp User group, Spokane Washington, meets the First Monday of every month at (Location), Contact )Person) at (Phone #).
It was originally a physical get togather time and place to share SketchUp stuff. They have them in many cities for other programs.

RE: Where to find Line drawings of a Ford Sport trac?
Thanks jenujacob,
They had the vehical, but just a real bat image, no line drawings. I think I will just go find a Sport Trac and take some high res. pictures of the top, side , front and back. Then import them and draw on top of the image to get my shapes. Thanks for the link.

Where to find Line drawings of a Ford Sport trac?
Hi All,
For the past year I have been searching for a 3D models of a ford Sport Trac with no luck! So I have decided to spend the next 4-5 months and make one my self. Does anyone know where I can find any accurate 2D (top, side, front, rear) line drawings/specs? So I can start creating a sketchup model? Any help would be greatly appriciated!
Mahalo,(Thanks)

RE: Sell an idea/invention???? HOw?
Hey Richard,
Just be carefull of thoes TV and Radio Ads where they promote that kind of stuff! 98% of the time they just take your money and sometimes the variation of your idea as well. Doing it yourself the hard way seams to be the "safest". There use to be a place - The patent & Trade mark Office in D.C. ??? (703)557-3158 or was it (703) 308-HELP? Ask for the free booklet "Summary of how the patent process works". And they will mail it to you. I think once you fill out the information, it costs 5-10 bucks to for the Patent and Trading Office to keep a confidential note of the date and time your idea was submitted while the "official" process gets under way.
Good Luck,

RE: Page Renumber Script
Thanks Gaieus,
Hopefully this will save me alot of time as I am constantly re-tweaking the "fly thru" path to get it smoother before I start to wrestle with the export/rendering game.
Thanks Again!

RE: Where's the pool? Here it is!
Hey Shaun,
No Worries! "Special" pools are the only type I would bother to make! Since I would probably get sent there myself!

RE: Where's the pool? Here it is!
Good point Ron!
I think I'll have to put togather a special Large Avant garde style one. I believe all of the standard home pools I have will just not do! As we are a "special" group, we desirve a special pool! I'll have to give it a bit on "serious" thought and see what I can come up with!

I thought I saw it at Smustard? But didn't see it? Or maby I am just a bit to tired to see it? Could someone please direct me to thie scripts location?
Thanks and Aloha,

RE: Who is still using SU V5?
I still use V5 often, I "try" to use V6 to start learning all the cool new stuff. But since V6 crashes a lot, I usually switch to V5 as soon as I see things start to crash or lock up.
