Hi gang...
I've been rolling along in Sketchup 2015 Pro, seeing no real need to upgrade to 2016 yet.

I am working on some final renders/deadline (isn't that when we all have problems?).

I am rendering with Thea, but also just added the Skatter add-on a few days ago. Everything has been going well until I decided to add about 30mb of cars to the scene. It is now (Not Responding) and no matter what version, yesterdays or this mornings...it comes up and just hangs at (Not Responding).

I finally uninstalled 2015...reinstalled and nothing changed...still hangs after loading the files.

After lunch I opened the most recent file on a virgin machine (fresh install of 2015...without Skatter or Thea) and it opened and I was able to move around just fine. Was able to remove the cars and block them to another drawing file - purged and checked for errors (did find some looping error)...then I saved it as a new file.
Went back to my machine...open new file and it hangs after loading the file again....still sitting here laughing at me with the (not Responding) sitting in its title on the header.

I even tried saving down to 2014 from the virgin machine and tried to open on 2014 on my machine and it locks.

Any ideas or is this just Murphy's Law in full effect!?

Been a great time...lookk my forward to some unconferences this morning.

I finally made it! Took 3-4 hours for the 5:30 shuttle to make it...but we did!
Saw Mayor Mike holding court at the bar when I arrived at my room and looked from the 2nd floor to see who all was in the bar that I recognized.

Must get fooood...checking out the restaurant!

This one should look familiar...

Just downloaded and installed the eval version of Pro.
Then I read this entire thread.

I did notice a lot of talk about large toolbar icons, but no one pointed out that you can turn that feature off...go to the tab.

Also, network licenses are a $150 upgrade. Not to thrilled about that...will have to see if the boss wants to spend that sort of cash.

Still have clipping of the model view in one of my larger models...was hoping the under the hood work would have fixed that. It is a big issue when trying to zoom in to work on details as well as just getting shots of the model.

Guess I have 7hrs and 30 minutes left to figure out if it is worth the upgrade.

For the "Make" version (thinking home) will .stl be available?...mainly doing 3d printing at the house these days.

The link to Pete's Community Build didn't seem to work...got a 404 message. I guess I will have to use that Search feature I hear people talking about.

Okay - I tried on a portion that wasn't as complex and it worked.
Looks like I need to simplify my model a bit (clean it up) and try again.

Shell seems to preview when I select a group and I can see the offset and adjust it. When I double click it doesn't stay...when I hit enter nothing happens. When I double click then click outside the group the offset disappears.

What am I doing wrong?

I was trying with raw geometries...I'll try with a group...are you talking about "Shell"?

did it crash or appear to hang?
if you're doing a processor intensive operation in sketchup, it may appear as if its not working.. but it is.
(for reference, I once did a jpp operation that took 4 hrs to calculate)

I get a "SketchUp Application has stopped working" dialog box...only options are check online and close or close program. Problem signature:...APPCRASH
