    • RE: [Tutorial > Texturing] Texturing an arch - #2

Thanks guys! Thanks for the tutorial and the tools!
Just saved me with this huge arch for an addition, which matches a design done 10 years ago on the same building.

BTW - I didn't read past the initial steps since I didn't have any issues, but if you are matching an opening - make the height of the flat column of brick equal to the length of outer arc of the assembly. Did that make sense?

You bet. Thanks for the subject.

Tried it out...I need to try it again a few times, major fail.
One question - First step page 12 -rotate 90...should that be rotate 180?

The mass mail went out yesterday.

I've received all but this one...not in spam, if no one else is having issues it must be on my end somehow.

    • RE: Thea For SketchUp 1.0 (Preview video)

      Great!
      2 questions...
1 - will there be a limitation with the non 64 bit - similar to Twilight's choking under the 32 bit restrictions?
2 - Relight? Is that accessible through this new interface?

      Does this hiccup affect "#9"

At least now people can't opine about Google holding SU development hostage for purposes of populating Google Earth.

Both thoughts I had while reading the announcement and the Trimble pdf to it's shareholders.
Maybe it will help develop the product past what Google needed it to do to help out their own interests (google earth).
Maybe we will finally get a 64 bit version of the product? (I use Twilight, main reason for this)

I would hope that they would carry on the tradition of Basecamp (that really wasn't a Google exclusive thing, was it?) - that way they can announce a new version and explain all of this to us in person...to assure us everything will be all right and what great advances will come out of this new partnership/owner.

...or it could be a trainwreck 😒

Great projects Antoine and the designs are a mix of old and new...are this all your designs?

Your visualizations are good but needs to update it and push the bar even higher, your sketchup modeling is excellent though.

Yeah, I'm a Design Architect, but ultimately the client and my boss are in control of what direction the designs end up.
The Grand Prairie projects (the first set that made the "Make it Real" thing) and the Mesquite project - that is a little more the firm's design direction. The Courthouse was the result of a client that was set in the past, but couldn't see what a modern version of a courthouse could be...they lacked vision and only felt comfortable with the familiarity of the past. It was a disappointing design project for the whole team, as you can see from the nearly 30-50 designs we cranked out...all in all, they got what they wanted and we made sure that it had some good classic and modern details.
