I am definately not that good at rendering or getting the textures right, but I gave it a try in kerkythea anyway. I want to try a few different programs that I can get for free or already have so bare with me while I try to get this done in scorching heat. My computer overheated yesturday so I don't know if it will today, otherwise the first renders would be up already. Anyway pass on the comments please.. EDIT: These are PhotonMap High + AA 0.3 Renders. Ok, made the changes and a few more, although there's no outward difference; it should run a little quicker. Download from here. Thanks Jason for the feedback and Thom for the code.

it goes to 10 percent and the program becomes nonresponsive, i last left it for about half an hour... i tried it with just one section of the house and it worked fine after about 30 seconds. all i needed was that one part anyway..

hmmm... I dunno about the sandbox tools, it's very limited IMO. If I was undertaking your project I'd use apps like Terragen, Vue or z-brush to sculpt the terrain accordingly. Alternatively if accuraccy is not an issue I'd use a contour map and use the sandbox 'from contour' option, then use SDS to smooth it (after cleaning as sandbox leaves a lot of additional geometry that needs trimming)

@gaieus said: V-ray wouldn't be much friendlier that is true! one of the easiest render engines you can use is Indigo. it is an unbiased render engine, meaning that it simulates light exactly as it is in real life. generates beautyful results and is extremely easy to use. but it will take many hours to clear up, depending on the amount of reflection in your scene (that is the price you pay for unbiased...)

your actually right Solo i don't live in the US i live in australia.... with the part of going back to do year 12 and get my VCE it is virtually impossible the courses require you to be between the ages of 16 and 19 and sadly i am now 20.. although there is a seperate requirements list for mature age applicants (21 years even though adults here are 18) @unknownuser said: Selection mode: Interview. See Extra requirements for specifics. Extra requirements: NONY12 Interview (some applicants only): Applicants must telephone (03) 9286 9401 to book an interview time by 2 November (Late applicants by 30 November). Applicants must attend interviews in November (Late applicants in December). this is all the information i have got on the interview, but i still believe that i may need to do more than an interview.. also thankyou for the quick tute on the portfolio, i may not need it but i sure will do one just in case, and ill try to do my best, but i have until november to do it if i want to do that specific course.. University is not really an option for me i just dont have that money lying around, infact i have no money since i got sick and need to get my act together... thankyou all for your help in this....

Hi folks. The Tape Measure Tool will scale along all the directions at once and yes, if you dont want to rescale the whole model but only a part of it, it must be used in the context of a group or a component. However, to rescale only in one direction, the tool to use is either the Move Tool, used with a carefull selection, or the Scale Tool. When using the Scale Tool, if you use a pure number, the number will be used as a scale factor. If you follow the number by a unit suffix like mm (for millimeters), for example, the real dimension will be used. Thus, even if you want to use your default unit, you must enter it after a number if you dont want the Scale Tool to consider the inputted number as a scale factor. And lastly, if you use the Move Tool or the Scale Tool, the object do not need to be in a group or a component. Just ideas.

Hi each instance will work independently, but a problem occurs when you change the reference within the child to different parents or update a formula (all are updated), this can be overcome by making the component unique or by using parent! instead of the named parent component that way you can have many parents, But by using parent! you lose the automatic update reference function within the component. So depending on your requirements pick the technique to suit. cub!lenY , cubby!lenY, big!lenY can all be replaced with parent!lenY Note when editing or updating latter a specific reference will overwrite the parent! in all the children cheers

@lucifer1101 said: i dunno why but he just doesnt want me to make it public... i may post it anyway... I wouldn't post the floor plan if the client doesn’t want you too. It does not make for very good business relations. Most of the work I do cannot be posted until it has been approved and out of contract (built), then they want everyone to see it which is good for me because it makes for more business. Not so much in your case, but in the commercial market and high end residential we never share images, there is too much competition between companies wanting to look the latest and greatest that if there current idea gets out then everyone will look like that. Lots of drama and politics, but they are the ones paying me the big bucks, well sort of.
