If only, No just for fun. However it became so overly detailed I had no choice but to export at the maximum sketchup will allow in order to capture the details. The file is far too big, it takes up over 2.5GB or RAM...
I am just practising for the moment, almost all of the meshes are re-used or kitbashed its just the illustrative techniques I am concentrating on.

You should look into rendering channels out of Thea. This help a great deal for compositing.

I will do, im trying to work out materials at the moment to see if its possible to get a call shaded 'shader' in Thea so I dont have to do so much in Photoshop. In the meantime I made this video of progress so far.

Wow!
You've also given me a great idea for my old colony ship. It also uses containers.

Very impressive work.
I do have one question tho - how do you keep your desktop so neat?? When I do clean mine (rarely), 10 minutes later it once again looks like a toxic waste landfill site

If you mean the computer desktop its not tidy its just all folders are hidden. If you mean the actual desk, well my girlfriend would not let me keep it messy, I do try!

Maybe it's just a rendered picture?
