i'm not sure where in the model you are using the material that looks like a cursive 'a' (named: 'Metal_Corrogated_Brown#1') but delete that material and it will export to .kmz without crashing..

Thanks solo, but I don't think I have bluetooth, don't really know what that is actually.
won't work then.. bluetooth is just some wireless stuff.. you can't use certain peripheral devices (mice, keyboards, headsets) with it as well as sync cell phones etc.. return it..

Although these issues (and many others) are very serious, I don't feel inclined to listen to individuals like Al Gore. His career as a politician is over, and this is just another fasionable issue to keep himself in the limelight. He should stick to just becoming another talking head in the media industry, like all other failed or retired politicians do.
i don't know all the exact facts and dates but i do know that this stuff isn't new to al gore and i don't think it's fair to claim he's just trying to stay in the limelight after his political career is over..
i know he had a book published on the same topic prior to becoming vice pres and he did these same sort of tours for years.. much of his agenda as vice president had to do with presenting evidence to congress on these issues and was trying to use his political weight to solve these problems.. although i think he definitely got the ball rolling, there's still a ton of work to be done and he's just continuing along those lines - with or without a political career.. just saying - he's dedicated most of his adult life to environmental issues and this isn't just some sort of publicity stunt.. -
RE: A question about Iraq...
genuinely apologize for the soon to be former administration's actions - both to iraq and the international community in general.. regain some sort of trust from the rest of the world and U.N... Pull out all offensive forces and invite the entire world to clean up the mess.. a group effort..
that's probably politically impossible (at least improbable) but i'd like to see something along those lines.. -

On the other hand, using a 2000-segment circle is not particularly elegant; rather, it's more of a brute force approach, wouldn't you agree?
so what.. i said all that other crap before free beer came into the equation..
seriously though, you're right.. and, i really don't think there's any sort of efficient manner to do this type of stuff in sketchup.. it would need true arcs i think..

But to be honest, Iβm not really interested in being this precise.
if you don't need super precision, you can use a heavily divided radius and it will get you pretty damn close if not right on the money..
2000 segments per circle here and the radii do in fact intersect..

As long as we're looking things up on Wikipedia, we can see that it gives the dihedral (included angle between two adjacent faces) of a tetrahedron as 70.528779Β°.
i think the challenge is to build the shape entirely using sketchup tools and locks.. the cube method makes this possible.. your solution uses math (albeit you went straight for the answer but 70.52....deg is a solution for an equation)..
here's an easy method for drawing an equilateral triangle without entering any numbers... [edit] - using this same method should work for for the entire shape but i'm having weird snap to problems.. i'll mess around with it tomorrow.. goodnight..

Even the cube method isnt entirely accurate, see my previous post.
really? i did the cube method 3 times and it always worked out perfectly.. every edge was the same length.. or maybe i'm not understanding something?

and i really wish everyone would stop compltely freaking out about global warming! i mean jeez! worrying about it is only going to make it worse!
agree.. recent studies have shown that human worry leads to increased CO2 emission due to heavy breathing/increased heart rate... everyone needs to relax in order for antarctica and greenland to refreeze..

RE: Critique this design before I start cutting wood
i'd be worried about having that much of the base contacting the floor.. unless your floor is perfectly flat, you're probably going to get some wobbling.. personally, i'd want to have the four legs as the only contact points..

RE: Funny funny funny
good find remus.. too funny..
some of the comments here have me thinking that david blaine isn't well known outside of america..

the videos remus linked to are parodies of him... he's easily my favorite modern day magicians.. -

RE: Crazy stuff you did when you were a kid
sorry, i can't leave any details on a public forum.. wouldn't want to incriminate myself and others.. let's just say i did plenty of wild shit as a kid/young adult.. that stuff basically ended with the birth of my daughter..
