Hello All - Can anyone please help me?
I use SketchUp LO (v15) very rare and to be honest, I have no idea of it so far. Now I have to edit the file of a former colleague. From the placed Skup model, there are countless variations. I can open the file from Skup LO (Open With SketchUp) but the opened file is located somewhere in my roaming area and somehow renamed like this: 643420376_AutoSave_filename.skp. but not in the project´s directory itself. How can I find out which skp file is really linked and shown in LO?
I´ve done all the correction so far (namings and dimensionings etc.) but I´m not able to locate the Skp file itself or it´s directory location.

I´m thankful for any tip

This is a wonderful plugin. Thank you for sharing that!
It automatically does what I often forget to do - namely to work with a second opened Skup, which makes things much easier often.

One thing I have noticed which is worth to mention here: First after the initial SkUp file with the component is saved at least once, the "Edit Component" option will run by opening the second SkUp.

Hi, any screenshot would be helpful to understand, which house should cast shadows on any 2nd or 3rd house (or should not cause shadows?). Sorry, for sure my English is not good enough to understand your question correctly Which shadow scenario are you aiming to?

there is an other option you should enable as well. Otherwise RC creates geometry in this case which can only be repaired by any subsequent triangulation. I had to zoom deep into your model to see that.
BTW Upscaling is a good idea for such tasks...

If you mean the RoundCorner plugin shown above by Pilou, maybe you´ve just forgotten to install "LibFredo6" in the current version additionally, which is required for all Fredo6 plugins?

I suppose that the cube is a group (or component)? If so, the triangle is not drawn in this face
itself but as an independent figure at the same space which is already occupied by the cube´s face.
Now SKUP can not decide which material to be shown here because two materials are put on the same
space. Your solution is ok (e.g. for a company´s logo on a wall) or the triangle needs to be drawn
into the cube´s face itself.

9 (your first No.9 question)
Although I use SKUP for years, I've learned this year that SKUP layers only control the visibility. Everything (everything !!!) gets drawn on Layer 0 (this Layer is also active). Now these drawn entities get grouped or converted into a component (a window for example). The group (or component) itself then gets assigned to a specific layer by using the entity info window (right mouse click onto this specific group / Entity Info).

That´s outstanding! How do you do that? Are you working according to old plans?

As for the modeling with Skup, I think you're right. In particular, because I broke my fingers
in each experiment with other modelers. I'm not saying that other modelers are bad but I'm too
poor for other modelers

Is it Thea Studio or Thea for SketchUp? - I like this somehow
"grainy" look, seen in almost all your works.

to Cotty´s workflow I would like to add the recommendation that I usually fix any desired standard SkUp 2D export resolution (width x height) first. Exactly this resolution (or at least this ratio) I then use for the render resolution setting within my renderer, to have very little mounting effort in PS or GIMP. Everything fits automatically. After that I crop to the desired image size...

Many of these are so good or interesting and even not too big,
that I sometimes try to imitate them for training purposes...

However, I need to emphasize, that you have a distinctive talent for

To be honest, I am also glad for having a simple "out of the box"-tool and for some reasons I still can´t find access to some features of Twilight for example.
I´ll add my first test render, which I´ve done with B3D. It is lit only with artificial light (2 bulbs) - no HDR and no sunlight. Maybe not a high-end render but wonderful for me and for a first testing. The render time was about 10 minutes with a test resolution of 1840 x 731 px.
Sorry, I did not understand, what you were trying to explain about the materials. Could you please try to describe that somehow new? Once I understood it, I'll look into it as well...

B3S is far away from the many material- and lighting options of Twilight and far away from the convenient preset options and stability of Shaderlight - but if speed counts, it is unbeatable, even in the unbiased rendermode. What can take hours in the two mentioned tools will only take minutes...

Sometimes it has to be fast - that's the reason why I also run this tool. And for many tasks the B3D features are sufficient or any higher effort unnecessary. So all in all a good complement.

BTW - if B3D doesn´t run properly, it is worth to consider whether Fredo6 plugins are enabled. If so, B3D recommends to disable these temporarily because of any issues.
