Not surprised. SU is actually pretty powerful, with the right plugins you can make a whole lot of amazement.

I'll second stinkie's recommendation. downloaded 'intro to modeling in modo' and started watching. very thorough...much more so that the stuff from Ablan.

Id like to have it all within SU as well, although id also want to avoid any UI clutter. id prefer an external app over a cluttered UI though, theres very little i find more annoying than a cluttered UI.

That is fantastic! Love the way you use 3D and 2D and make it all work [don't overdo it , it is pretty much perfect right now]

i agree a dream come true, i think the worst thing i could have done going into architectural 3d was start with sketchup, its ease of use and intuitive navigation has spoiled me for any other 3d apps, the huge leap to learning C4D/max just seems too much to fit into my schedule, friends of mine who work in Max and see me work in Sketchup have said that the makers of Max could learn something from sketchup and for a long time ive wished for mixture of max and SU, this [Bonzia3d] seems to be that combo, a quote from the website: "...and then be able to advance to the next level of detailed solid modeling" that next level is all im after, however i agree with Biebel that it had better support external Renderers ie Vray otherwise i wont be too impressed... another quote: "...can be smoothly rendered, animated..." so maybe it wont be so bad. i for one look forward to trying it.

gaganraj, You're correct, this isn't the best spot! But to answer your question, SKUP doesn't have the viewport functions of AutoCAD, however, you can use the scenes function to flick between different views. In Window/Model Info menu, untick the "enable Scenes transistions" option in the animation section. Then in the Scenses tab, untick all the options apart from Camera location, then create a scene, move your position & create another. You can then start a command & flick between the views mid-command - try doing that in ACAD!

[image: loft_post.jpg] made a few slight changes based on a lot of feedback from different sources. thanks for the feedback, compliments and crits. I tried to cool off the interior light so it matched the BG a bit better. Toned down the carpet flip and flipped the canvas for a bit better compositional read. (this is a fun/fantasy piece so i don't have a design doc. to adhere to) The space was supposed to be less 'high-rise' and more 'swanky pad on the hill' so i figured it had some sort of green roof and vines growing up the walls. thanks again for all the feedback!

I like the look of those but I'd hate to sit on those couches. They don't look at all comfortable.
